Plenty of shortfalls in our team already without losing someone who has proven he can do a job. And Joe, Jack may well not be Busquets, but he's a damn sight closer than we are to being Barcelona.
I like Cork. I think he's good enough to play for us. Maybe I'm overestimating him as a player, I don't know, but it doesn't matter. It's not all about the player's quality anyway, there's also something about player's attitude and mentality, at least for me. I would always support a team of Corks.
Good decision. I'm butting out now too because no amount of to-ing and fro-ing is going to actually change anyones' opinion. We just start falling out with each other when we should be doing the opposite.
Oh dear. Just go back to your City match comment previously.... Jack played well and in your words "was instrumental in the result" ... maybe we could have won it
I like Cork, but I don't have a problem with moving him on either. We're not playing the double pivot so we have less need for Cork. And between Taider and the younger players ready to step up, it creates a logjam for playing time. I think Cork is a hard-working, decent player but he's basically average. It's nice to have a player like that as backup but Cork probably wants to start, and I don't blame him because there's a lot of teams he could start for. If we can get a decent fee for him, it's a win-win situation. He didn't kick up a fuss or refuse to train, and hopefully he leaves on good terms. I'd like us to get more than 3m for him, but I'd rather just take the 3m than risk this blowing up into yet another situation.
Saints have received no offers - and are not keen to sell: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/11410593.No_bids_for_Cork/?ref=var_0
Fat chance. I don't believe for a second that there hasn't even been a single offer. This is a saga and it's not done yet.
Come on Uncle Les, get a new contract under Corky's nose and get him to sign up as we don't want to loose him
Two posts following you missed the point.... I don't think it's about ambition; he just wants to play.
