If the first two don't want stupid wages, I'd take them both. Eto'o, about 5 years too late.. right now, no thanks!
Slightly off topic Suarez's ban has been upheld but can now train with Barcelona. Glad its been upheld and Barca werent able to reduce it and makes sense about allowing him to train as the footbll related activities brought up stupid questions of what he can and cant do. So do you think we got a fair price for him in the end?
well the not allowed to train bit was a silly part of the punishment in my opinion, as it would in reality end up being he would be no good to barca for longer than 4 month ban as he wouldn't be fit or anything to start matches. price is fine, just a bit disappointed we havent managed to get that little bit of quality a reus or shaqiri etc would have brought, still time for that to change though
Eto'o's wages are £8½mill for the year. Not sure what his sign on fee would be... assuming... £2mill would put cost of ownership at £10½mill for a year- with no ability to sell him. Bony's wages (guessing £80k pw) is a little over £4m- if we pay £19m- he'd cost us £23m for the first year. Over twice the price of Eto'o but we'd still have a fantastic striker signed up for a few more years over his peak years- and his sell-on value (next summer) would presumably stay the same. So we'd have a £19m asset left over.
Eto'o is a no. The other two depends what you're looking for. If you're wanting to add lots of goals to the side then Bony but it also brings a more structured approach to our team since he operates within the lines of the eighteen yard box. If you want to keep the free flowing high pressure football then Lavezzi is a better fit, he has the tenacity and work ethic of Suarez. Winning the ball higher up the pitch presents a better opportunity to score as does having a player that is a natural finisher like bony.
Martin Kelly ‏@MartinKelly1990 2m Now to start a new chapter of my football career at crystal palace a great club with unbelievable fans excited already for the weekend Good luck Martin!!
Agree, if he stays fit. If he keeps only playing 5-6 games before being out injured again, then that would obviously hamper the value for money. But for Palace, 2 million is presumably a fair amount but not a huge risk.
hmmmmm.... eto'o is an absolute no, under any circumstance. Levezzi seems to fit more, but its money down the drain yeah? For me bony aint really good enough
Not every player bought has to have a resale. If Lavezzi keeps us in the CL and we win some hardware, money well spent not down the drain.
Just thinking of that night makes me feel sick. I was so furious after that match, missus kicked me out the house and told me to walk it off!
