Sporting Lisbon have told Slimani and Rojo to train with the reserves as they both are trying to force through moves Rojo to Man Utd, Slimani to clubs including Newcastle, Leicester City, West Ham and Crystal Palace... http://www.theguardian.com/football...nited-marcos-rojo-disciplined-sporting-lisbon
Would we want players like this? In 1-2 years down the line they will be refusing to play for us and trying to push a move through to elsewhere
Everyone in football is a mercenary - remember how surprised we were when Kasper said he'd honour his contract rather then move in the January transfer window last season?
Kasper has been committed since the day he signed. Never once has he looked like he was looking for a move. Never publicly said anything about speculation rather then he was flattered but happy here
Think you are being slightly naiive there Proud ... if Kasper had an offer from one of the CL clubs that paid him more money and also guaranteed the number one spot I'm afraid he'd be off like a shot .. as for Slimani ... the rumours appear to be gathering pace ... http://talksport.com/football/leicester-launch-ps65m-move-sporting-lisbon-striker-140814107667 and http://www.insidefutbol.com/2014/08...sporting-lisbon-striker-islam-slimani/154871/ ... I'm beginning to think there has to be something behind this - the lad has definitely had his head torned and the fingers are getting more animated in our direction
Apart from his appearances at the WC, never seen anything of Slimani. Understand that he struggled to be a regular starter for Sporting last season. Gotta be better than Phil Gee.
Might just be that this 'alternative' is a wake up to Watford (and Troy Deeney) to grasp the nettle...
I was hoping we would sign him to replace Long. I'll be really jealous if you do sign him, he's a terrific finisher and he looked class at the World Cup.
... we are apparently quickly increasing our bid in an attempt to force a deal through ...http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-increase-islam-slimani-bid-4050708
I would take him over Deeney. It seems Slimani and Cambiasso are the 2 Nigel wants I would want a versatile defender aswell now
And likewise I don't think Pearson would stand in the way of Kasper moving to one of the footballing giants (for the right fee), and that between them they would be sensible enough to avoid a situation where Kasper was refusing to play for us, which reflects badly on everyone involved, but particularly the player.
