Rangers want £6m to sell Taarabt Taarabt's future is uncertain following his return to Rangers. 13/08/2014 By David McIntyre QPR are asking for £6m for Adel Taarabt. That was the fee for any permanent transfer to Fulham agreed when he moved to Craven Cottage on loan a year ago and is still the amount Rangers are looking to sell him for. Taarabt failed to impress at Fulham, who ended his season-long loan in January so he could spend the rest of the campaign on loan with AC Milan. He did impress in Italy, scoring four goals in his 14 appearances, and is desperate to move to the San Siro this summer. Italian media reports have suggested that Milan plan to offer Rangers around £3m for the 25-year-old Moroccan, who has two years left on his contract. Speaking at the weekend, QPR boss Harry Redknapp said: âIf he doesnât want to be here then someoneâs got to pay the money. Heâs not going to go cheap.â Redknapp, who sold the player to Rangers in 2010 while Tottenham manager, has also said that Taarabt âhasnât done a dayâs trainingâ in recent weeks and is âmiles awayâ from being fit.
I heard Milan were offering £3m upfront, another £1m based on appearances and a cut of future sell on. Beskitas allegedly also interested.
Never mind the money on offer - what about what everyone things about him do we rate him or not? I really need to know where everyone is on this....
You can gauge the members feedback on the 1,000 Adel threads on this board. Many love him, many don't, all of us are completely frustrated with him.
I think we need a new rule that unless the thread has an Adel alert in the title and subsequently turns out to be about this talismanic subject, it gets deleted
I think it's good to see us playing hard ball on this one. Fair play TF and HR. Taarabt has to realise that he's contracted to us and we have every right to get the best deal out of him. He has a choice in the meanwhile, rot in the reserves or get himself fit and contribute to the first team.
My eyes must be deceiving me then. Numerous pictures have been posted by QPR of Adel training. Of course, we all believe Harry.
They aren't playing hard ball, that's a poor joke. £6 million is well less than half what Adel is worth. He has been a top player in a No 10 role at a top Club in Europe. We see players with no experience of even the PL moving for around double this.
Ozzie, your rose-tinted view of that player contorts your rationality. A player is worth only what someone's willing to pay for him. No more, no less. At the moment Taarabt is worth little more than £3m because that's the only offer the Club has received. We might get one or two million more but that's it. Instead of talking about other players moving for double this, ask yourself why no-one has bid more than £3m for him - if indeed anyone else has bid for him at all. You're right that Redknapp is lying through his teeth about him not training but that doesn't alter the fact that Tarbs just isn't seriously wanted by any Club, at least not for any more than a couple of million quid. I also think Redknapp was having a quip in that press conference earlier when he talked about Remy just wanting to play, being the consummate pro and particularly that he wouldn't run down the window just to force a move because he's "too decent a guy". Ostensibly he was talking about Remy but I think he was really talking about Taarabt.
He only played 14 games for Milan scoring 4 goals. So he's hardly attained a proven CV at a top club in Europe. Milan finished 8th in the league, didn't even qualify for Europe, so to call them a top club in this present day is pretty inaccurate. He couldn't get a run of games in a Fulham side that got relegated, that's a fact. With this information, it's little wonder why teams won't pay more than £4 million for a player who hasn't had a successful season since 2011/12.
