He trebled his wages from £15k to £45k when he became a first team player, he hasn't had a new deal since. Google it, you'll find that figure used by pretty much all the nationals and Man United sites. We'd have to up it if we were to tempt him to us, but that still isn't likely to be enough, he'll probably end up at Spurs.
Are either of Gardos or Long likely to play on Sunday? If they sign today they'll probably, at most, have only trained for two days with their new teammates?
Gardos has just returned from a 3 month injury and I don't believe has had any pre-season matches so is unlikely to be ready to play(possibly bench). Long has already played competitive football so could come straight in
Nabil Hassan ‏@NabilHassan79 5s I'm hearing Shane Long to #saintsfc is completed. EDIT: DTLW on the ball yet again!
Shane Long has signed a four-year deal with Saints, completing a transfer from Hull City for an undisclosed fee. please log in to view this image DTLW
I've actually found myself getting ever so slightly excited for this signing; not because I've decided that actually maybe he'll be really good but because, **** it, he's a player who wants to play for Southampton and he'll never be too good for us. There's also the very slight possibility he could be like Jay Rod on the opposite side. Very slight.
