If, and its a big if, Welbeck comes here for the reported £14m an gets 2-3 years successful years under his belt, the regular games will benefit Welbeck and at his age it will be onwards and upwards and we will again make a tidy profit. win win!
Based on what? We have Johan ter Horst who scored a **** load of goals for Folkestone Invicta last season, presumably you think that qualfiies him to be a first team player here? What a Manchester United U18 (he'[s not even in the reserves) player did in pre season is of no interest to Steve Bruce.
Do people not read the threads before posting? It has been stated multiple times that he is currently on the same wages as Long.
As an international I'm not his biggest fan and sometimes I've wondered how he gets in the England squad, but then I look at the England squad and realise it's not as good as we think it is. As a signing for us....it's a no brainer if it's possible, part of me thinks there'd be another 8-9 clubs in front of us but then why would Bruce let long go after it took him ages to get him here unless he has something lined up
Long has stated anything one way or the other, but his missus definitely wants to move back down south.
Yes but as OLM said ManUre often play him out wide to accommodate others in the middle. If he came here he would be our number 9 and play down the middle. One thing in favour of him moving (hopefully here) is that he needs regular games to keep himself competing with the likes of Sturridge for an England start. Only way to be doing that is by playing and scoring.
When he became a first team player, he got a new deal which saw his wages treble to £45k a week(reported pretty much everywhere) and he's not had a new deal since.
Anyone remember how Sturridge was forced out wide at Chelsea and as such many people slated him? Not saying he's quite as good but would be a great signing for us. I don't think it will happen however. I think we will get Deeney who I would also be very happy with as he is a natural goalscorer with plenty of desire, strength and a good work rate.
He must be loving the fact an 18 year old defender is getting paid more than double then! Although in all fairness his contract may have had clauses that increase his wage based on appearances, goals, England caps...etc, not unusual when a young player signs a long-term deal.
Shut up you turd. You really think people are gonna read through 35 ****ing pages before posting you nonce.
