Let me try that again... I was just thinking, assuming Cork leaves - who is left from our Championship promotion squad, so here goes... (including anyone who represented Saints in any of the 46 games that season) Manager - Nigel Adkins - GONE Kelvin Davis - HERE Bartosz Bialkowski - GONE Danny Butterfield - GONE Frazer Richardson - GONE José Fonte - HERE Aaron Martin - GONE Danny Seaborne - GONE Jos Hooiveld - HERE Dan Harding - GONE Danny Fox - GONE Steve De Ridder - GONE Guly do Prado - GONE Richard Chaplow - GONE Dean Hammond - GONE Jack Cork - GONE Morgan Schneiderlin - HERE Iago Falque - GONE Lee Holmes - GONE Ben Reeves - GONE Jason Puncheon - GONE Adam Lallana - GONE Rickie Lambert - GONE Billy Sharp - GONE David Connolly - GONE Lee Barnard - GONE Jonathan Forte - GONE Tadanari Lee - GONE
I would be very disappointed if Cork left, but I can understand it from his point of view, and ours too. For me he was a very key player for us last season when Wanyama was injured, and he's a great back up option for our current team. Unfortunately he deserves better than to be back up and if Palace can guarantee him the full time PL football he is good enough for then it's a wise career move. One of my favourite players but luckily we have more than adequate cover in that position.
Majority of those names have been replaced by equal or better players. And demonstrates why talk of relegation would appear to just be hysterical. That is the sort of squad that would be relegated. Not ours now
also by daily mail stating Goalkeeper Artur Boruc is furious after he was told Fraser Forster is the new first choice. Boruc will ask to leave if Forster plays at Anfield.
Bye bye Artur then. Got to be real here and force his way back in. I can see him going though if it suits us (which it probably won't) I think Morgan will be gone IF the bid/deal is high enough. We may well be looking at a CB as part of the deal but please not either of the 'no assists' pair.
I do wonder why he is in London as there was a picture of him on the underground station I bet not shopping
If we had a player exchange with Spurs, I'd quite happily take Nacer Chadli. He would be a good fit as we need a decent winger and Koeman will know him from his time in the Eredivisie.
Firstly this post is just my opinion......I think if they get these two deals over the line ( Long & Gardos ) these will be the last deals we do incoming. RK will see the potential departure of Cork of not really any loss, shame coz personally I think he does a better job than Wanyama, but with strength in depth he's let go. Will there be anymore departures?
I'm not sure any of us know enough to claim that these will be the last 2 signings. There have been numerous links to wingers and centre midfielders during the summer in addition to the players actually obtained. There is still time after the season starts so I don't think anyone is going to hastily draw a clear line under things so early
