He was previously sniping at Les over the lack of contact with Jack. The whole "oh, you've got time for X but not Y" thing that set off his passive-aggressive Twitter barrage several weeks back.
From what I gathered, Koeman saw a place for him at the club as a bench player who we can rotate into the game when others need changing up. Cork, now twenty-five wants regular football and he can also move back to South London - which is where he is from.
I would be absolutely gutted to loose Corky but he does seem to have been unhappy last season and his contract extension seems to have been dragging on when all around him seem to being sorted He has been a very good players since joining and arguably the most consistent midfielder
Im not quite sure what the **** this has all got to do with his Dad anyway. I mean, I have been having a couple of issues at my work lately and they were well pissed off when my old man stormed in to see my boss and put a few ****s into him...
It very much seems like Koeman doesn't rate him. There have been CM links all summer (including Onzusi, Clasie, Lucas, the Dundee chap above). This can't be a coincidence. The problem is too many players have left this summer and morgan is unlikely to have his head back in it (so that is two midfielders down). The stability is probably worth the 3m loss, especially given the income so far. But it is not my money to be making those kinds of claims! I can only assume that Koeman still wants someone else in for midfield. From pre-season I gathered he wanted his 3 central midfielders to be proper box to box types, flexible enough to play in any of the 3 central midfield positions - DM, CM and CAM. Perhaps Koeman feels cork doesn't add enough in the advanced position? Who knows?
Sad to see Cork go, but he's in the unfortunate position of being too good to sit on the bench, and not quite good enough to be in the starting XI. Has been both criminally underrated and a little overrated by fans on this forum, but I don't begrudge him a move if we can't offer him a regular first team place for the second season running.
At least I won't get a Direct Message from Cork on Twitter for criticising him next time, if he leaves. Ref earlier local boy point: He's from Carshalton. About a 10 min drive from their ground.
Koemans first big mistake. Maybe JC lacks Morgans dynamics & Victors presence, but blow me, we are not blessed with people who are proven at doing a job in midfield. Letting Cork go for £3M shows far more incompetence than over paying for people like Long. Hope the Kat is willing to spunk as much money next year in the Championship.
About the DM? I said that he was getting bullied on the pitch and needed either to be replaced (this was in the Champ) in that game, or we needed to sacrifice a forward and chuck another midfielder in there to help him. I basically got told to stick to being a fan and let him play the football. I know a guy through Twitter who got one, with Cork reminding him there's a reason he sits in the stands and Cork plays the game.
And there's the first one. Midfielders that can do a job- Morgan Vic JWP Reed Taider (more than likely) Who did I miss?
Yep there will be another meltdown but with. Schneiderlin Wanyama Taider Reed Prowse Davis Stephens Then Hesketh, Mells in the youth.
