So when is the last time Leeds signed three players and all real good ones? I can't remember. Cellino doubters please stand up
The majority of fans wanted him in as we really had little choice, myself included if you go back through old posts I was praying he would take over however I was not going to blindly follow him. He has done some excellent things for Leeds Utd and some not so great as well. On paper I am overjoyed with the three new signings and I will be happy when he purchases Elland Road back. I will sing his praise when he does well and I will question things when he contradicts himself, you can't escape the fact he was going to buy back ER with his own funds then he needs the Ross fee to do it. Questioning him and debating his actions isn't doubting that long term we will be far better off than we were under GFH or Bates. As things stood a week ago we were relegation material, we proved that with a defeat to Millwall. As things stand now with three new players it's certainly looking better, I don't believe Hockaday is right for us, our biggest thing now is getting these players to gel as a team. If we get stuffed on Saturday and rant about it on here it doesn't mean I doubt Cellino. Finally I can look at the squad now and feel we have a far better team on paper than last years bunch. They need to step up now and be counted, can Hockaday get them performing week in and week out, will he pick the best 11? I guess we are set to find out. No excuses now, we have competition for places and some very handy looking players. To think Austin and Murphy are probably our weakest now speaks volumes compared to Kebe and Stewart AND IF Hunt gets picked once more Hockaday should be sacked on the spot.
TRhe most pleasing aspect for me is the progress of Charlie Taylor hes a real find believe me .We will still need a right back as back up to Berardi as Byram will soon be gone probably after the Brighton game as that will gives us time to get someone in
Ristac you are starting to piss me off with some of the anti Cellino stuff. Yes he is a strange one who speaks before he thinks, and Hockdickhead is a huge mistake. But you can't really question the money he has pumped in / change to the finance structure he forced on GFH. The true debt at LUFC was so well hidden that every other bidder walked away. He didn't, but then discovered that debts were four times higher than in the books. He had a choice, clear the debt and make us solvent or buy Elland road from his own cash. He couldn't do both. If he hadn't clear ed debt we would have been in admin. Even now he is using the Ross money to buy ER and not pocketing it. To get the club where it will be has cost him circa £25 mill more than planned. The reason he hasn't gone straight to the bank and handed over the Ross money to buy Elland Road is because we would still have to pay £500,000 in rent to Teak as well as the purchase price it's in the lease that come what may we will pay rent till November. We would be paying Bates and Teak twice. When the rent year ends he will buy ER with the Ross money, but don't forget that the Ross money is his cash in any case.
DOUBTERS.........a bit early to be crowning him King of E.R.........going in the right direction with these signings though. Let's just hope the players gel quickly..
So which part is Anti Cellino? I said I am happy with him and the way things are going but it hasn't been all plain sailing and no I didn't expect it to be. If you think he has done a 100% perfect job then don't question the appointment of Hockaday His signings have been shrewd but decent, he should never have entertained the thought of Nile Ranger if you believe otherwise fine by me.
