I like him and have already mentioned him but from what I can see there's only Lukaku ahead of him (by miles) and Kone who's just back from an injury that kept him out for nearly all of last season. I just can't see them letting him go.
Call me cynical if you like but I seem to remember a certain AA saying that as he did not get his name change he was going to run the club for the shareholders benefit. He puts up the season tickets by 30% and now sells our No1 striker for a £5-6 million profit. I hope I am wrong but if any more of our top players suddenly go for a nice little profit I fear I may be right.
And would probably sell them if the right price came along. But wait a minute he has just sold Long for £12.5 million and he paid £16 million for Livermore and Snodgrass so I beg to differ he paid £3.5 million for the two of them and if all the rumours about Elmo and Quin are proven correct he will of got them for **** ALL.
dont forget all the signing on fees and agent fees, they would of run into Millions for Livermore and Snodgrass
Jelavic depended on Long's passing, now I suppose he'll be depending on Snodgrass feeding him from behind. Jelavic himself isn't that good a passer.
Because AA who as we know is so astute about football that he had the foresight to know that Southampton would be raided of all of their best players, and force them to pay over the odds for a striker that everyone else thought we'd paid over the odds for just 6 months ago? If you're right of course, this makes AA a footballing genius.
I expect Jelavic to score quite a few this season with the added creativity to our squad, unless we ign someone to lead the line instead of him. He'll thrive with pacey players around him.
Back page of the Mirror tomorrow is hull going for Wellbeck. Seen the paper and they have also reported it on Talksport
