Yes this is at the heart of the issue, and these few still have an axe to grind over Laudrops dismissal, bitter isn't the word, and while most of us have moved on these few (You know who you are) still snipe at Monk and slag him off, I knew he wouldn't be the popular choice for most Jacks, but he is now our manager, who rescued our season, and has done brilliant in the transfer window, yet some cannot move on from Laudrop, the quote below from Vetch just shows how bitter they still are: Of course vetch is referring to Huw Jenkins deal over Vorm, and us being reported, but really does show how bitter some still are, sad really sad!............
Fernandez was due in Swansea on Maturday but the police escort from Naples took him via Vladivostok on the way to Swansea Bay. From there he has been on a two day trip to Aberystwyth via Chirk on a purple bendy bus. Providing the hoard of student security guards know where the entrance is he will have a medical on Thursday.
Never heard of this site but they speculate he is all but here with us http://www.football-italia.net/54302/swansea-close-napolis-fernandez Never believe until you see it guys, we have been here a few times in the last two years.
His Fifa rating is good, overall rating 75, potential 80, Heading Accuracy 80, Strength 82, Defending Marking 78!.................... Link:http://sofifa.com/player/148420-federico-fernandez
Federico Fernandez has agreed personal terms with Swansea as his switch from Napoli nears completion. The two clubs have settled on a fee of over £7million for the Argentina international, who has been left out of Napoli’s Champions League squad and has not trained with his team-mates in recent days. The only sticking point is the timetable of payments, but it is expected a compromise will be reached and Fernandez will move to the Swans. The 25-year-old featured in Argentina’s run to the World Cup final, although he lost his place after picking up an injury in the group stages, and had been on Swansea’s radar for almost a year. The move is unlikely to be completed in time for Fernandez to feature against Manchester United on Saturday, with a work permit still to be sorted out. But his arrival will be a welcome boost for Swansea manager Garry Monk, who has lost two back-four regulars in Ben Davies and Chico Flores this summer.
I cannot see him featuring at Old Trafford, would be nice but to close to the game now, and no training?
If he does have an Italian passport then that is true, EEU citizen, member nation no permit required, the only other is Swiss National................
Would love him to come on at Old Trafford, but I think it's pushing it, or is it a case of needs must? He is an International, that makes our CB pairings both Internationals, hope he partners well with Williams!...............
We have the team we need , with or without Bony . Monk will have to steer his team now from scratch . No matter the start , draw no conclusions till a dozen games are done , we owe him that... we could be in first place by then . Transfers have eased my panic , Im actually quiety confident about the assembled team ....Holy Fernandez , we have a 7 million £ CB , If some one had said we would have one of those a half dozen years ago in the future ... the white jackets would be arriving .
We still need a solid defensive midfielder in front of the centre backs as a priority. Both Shelvey and Ki are great as attacking midfielders, but lack the defensive skills for this position.
If we get him then imo he won't be playing for a while as I believe he's been injured and isn't fit, let alone match fit. Good signing though.
We're still a nr. 9, 16 and 17 short. Fernandez will be either a nr. 17 or 21 (from Canas), that leaves nr. 9 and nr. 16. Who will this be?
