Forza, italian sports side, say fernandez sat out training today, to avoid any injuries ahead of potential move
Latest from Italy, it's looking good! According to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, Fernandez sat out of Napoli’s training sessions this morning to avoid taking any unnecessary risks and jeopardise any transfer deal after Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis decided to allow the player to leave for around €10 million. The centre back joined Napoli from Estudiantes back in 2011 but he has struggled at the club and during at the start of 2013 he was loaned out to Getafe for the remainder of the season before rejoining the Neapolitans for last season.
Don't usually go for coincidences but ...."The Serie A side are chasing a loan deal for Fellaini but are struggling to meet United's £4m asking price for the season-long deal despite the Red Devils agreeing to pay half of his wages during the temporary spell." Hmmmn. I'd have spent £2 mn keeping Chico as £8 mn is an awful lot of money for a player with Fernandez' injury background.
Yep! Great business by the club! Never in my dreams think that swansea could ever attract a current Argentinean international! Think this is a sign of intent from the club! And one thing is for certain, my doubts over monk attracting quality players are definitely over. Now he needs to show us that he knows his football and will have the tactical nous to guide us to safety.
I dont mind either way .Sounds promising at a price but Bartley must be thrown in some time to see what we got over a stretch of games .It may bring out a great player , just when we need one .
I knew we would attract players good enough for us but Gomis, Gylfi, Montero and Fernandez are a level above what I expected, this season anyway, well done all involved. As you say, now to get them playing together on the pitch the way we are used too. Also seen that both Dyer and Routs are available for the Utd game.
Apart from a reported minor injury I can't find much on his injuries?? But I did find this write up written before the world cup: Fernandez has been an Argentina regular in recent seasons, and after easily the best club season he's ever had, he was a lock to make the squad this time. I'd be surprised if he isn't a starter in Brazil, and the chance has been very, very well-earned.* I don't understand why people are doubtful of this player?
Yep, monk has exceeded expectations on the transfer front, now he needs to exceed or expectations on the pitch! Yea that's great news, Routledge will continue to impress this season IMO
Yes I would agree with that, so much for all the sooth sayers on here stating Monk could not attract top quality players, well done Monk, lets move on from the Laudrop drama queens!................
No. You've included what it cost to build the squad in what it cost to rebuild it. If I have a house that had a conservatory that cost £10,000 to build and i knocked it down and built a new one costing £15,000 I wouldn't say it cost me £25,00 to rebuild it.
I watched the World Cup game where Fernandez got injured and he looked a cultured footballer until the injury. The commentator did say it looked a nasty one.
That's always been the case, and obviously more so in the Premier League, but we are now embarking on our 4th season, I'm sure Huw will not be reckless, even if the funding is one of the highest in the world of football, anyway the fact is Monk has indeed attracted top players, and that must really grit at some on here!.......
