Dai, if we can play like I'm hoping we can, after watching Utd last night, we could get something. As long as we give a good account of ourselves
Monk will target a win, and for the first time in a log time we have the front line to do it, glad Dyer is back in the squad, Routledge having injections on his ankle is a bit of a worry, but we have cover, so here's to a great opening fixture, and no conceding in the first 30 minutes please!.............. PS: And no 4-4-2 Monk!..................
Fabianski Angel, Amat, Williams, Taylor Ki, Jonjo, Dyer, Gylfi, Routs Bony Bench: Gomis, Montero, Sheehan, Jazz, Tiendalli, Bartley, Tremmell
I can't see anything but a sound thrashing and no we won't be doing the thrashing. If Monk proves me wrong and pulls out a tactical master class I'll run naked down Wind Street at 9pm shouting "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!" Don't worry ladies, we'll lose.
I fancy us to sneak a win here, especially with the injury list Manu have, Rooney we have easily marked out of the game in the past, so I'm going to be bold and go for a 2-1 to the Swans, Monk will want to lay his marker down tomorrow aswel................
I have no idea what to expect anymore . We could finish 1st or 20 th, weird feeling going into the "Unknown" this season .Just gotta cheer the troops on and hope they play confidently amongst old and new . This game means not a lot but maybe we can sneak in a performance as United nerves could take a hit early . Score early and watch them implode
We have no pressure, we are odds on to lose against a massive club and we can go there and play our game in the swansea style and you never know. Others have turned big clubs over down the years. we certainly have the fire power but i don't think our defence is good enough to stop them from scoring at will if they have too....Should be an interesting day....
Our three League visits in the PL have all ended in defeat: 0-2, 1-2 and 0-2 so you are right, there is no pressure. Realistically Man U will be red hot favourites and considering that our team has been restructured we will do well to keep the score down to 2 or 3. But with Man U suffering a few injuries themselves you never know......................
#SwanseaCity starting line up: Fabiański; Rangel, Williams, Amat, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Dyer, Sigurðsson, Routledge, Bony.
That's the line up I'd have gone with too. Full of pace, creativity and Bony Won't be surprised with a draw here as Utd's back 3 are pants.
Eerily confident , Man U going with a few youngsters. Good line up by Garry , might wrestle a point away from them .COME ON SWANS ....Was a long wait .WOOHOO!!!
I'd be happy with a solid performance today. I had not put this down as a game we'd get something out of but am open to a surprise result! Will want to see our midfield show their quality and provide Bony with something to work with. I do think Utd will be nervous and we should get at them ...
Me too. Performance more important than the result. Not expecting a win but would be happy with a good performance. Cant wait to see how Siggy plays with Bony. As I said on the Amat/Bartley thread think we going to see the back 4 trying to pick out the wingers due to Man U pressing us high up. Looking forward to seeing if we can mix it up a bit though. Anyway BT sports on beer open baby asleep COYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's colourful Stereo Still see a loss for us today unfortunately, and if we can keep it to 2 goals that'll be fine provided we put in a good performance. I see the pundits on Sky have the same fears as the fans, that the arrival of Monk may well herald a change in style and that would be an awful decision if true. I get the feeling they may be right and it'll be a tale of long-ball-to-Bony all day, because our pre-season friendlies showed a distinct lack of our usual short pass, attacking, free-flowing style. I really hope I'm wrong for Monk's sake and ours.
A good performance here and 3 points next game might keep Bony and others thoughts away from the transfer window . Like 26 says , a good performance here will go a long way .
