How do you start a poll on here? We should have one on the subject "How many (league) goals will Jozy get this year?"

I really like his attitude, He's taken a lot on the chin and he just keeps going forward. Love that!

I reckon he'll get between 5 and 10 this season. I'm not mad - just an optimist!

Well you can get ****ed because I'm not. :emoticon-0109-kiss:

Just to show how ridiculous holding his form as an 18 year old premier league strikers is. When Louis Suarez was just 19 he mustered an incredible 10 goals in the Eredivisie, a league that one of your chickens can score in. ;)

So Jozy scored 1 in 31. So? Hardly a revelation, we all knew that already. You said he'd never been a goal scorer but he has been clearly. Not everybody is the same are they? Some people take longer to settle than others. Some people are naturally more confident. We're human beings not robots. I've got the compassion, decency and patients to give him the time before hanging him out to dry and labelling him. As I've said on the board today. It's a defining season for him, make or break and it's down to him. Any reasonable person should give a player a full season before judging imo.

I could easily take your attitude and apply it to Giacc. Got knocked pillar to post for most of the season, couldn't handle the pace or the physicality and got knocked off the ball most times he had it. We were playing possession football and he kept giving the ball away virtually every time. Why doesn't he get labelled by you? Me thinks it's a scapegoat thing to be honest. Jozy the Scapegoat. <yikes>

Wickham should've taught us a lesson about how slowly some players can adapt to life in the Premier League ...........

Maybe it's just as easy as...Giach is a naturally talented football player, with skill, technique and can score goals, despite not being a forward...Where-as Altidore, during his time at SAFC, has shown none of these qualities so far.

Yes Giacc has got good attributes, but we still surrendered possession from attacking positions most of the time. My point is that despite him having some of the attributes needed, he struggled with the aspects required of him, much like Jozy only in different areas, so much it limited his game time. He couldn't do what was being asked of him.

Jozy was the cheapest of our top three strikers, yet one was injured and the other was still at a loan stage of his career, an understudy who had to play when Ideally he wouldn't have had anywhere near the game time he got.

We had the luxury with Borini playing well to ease Giacc in how we'd like. We didn't have that luxury with Jozy.

I don't hold it against Giacc while he adapts, like I don't hold it against Jozy while he adapts. I don't pick and choose from a pool of struggling players who I'm going to write off and put down while they're trying to adapt. Because that would be making a scapegoat of one of them.

Giacc's problem is he cannot defend and if we have him and AJ in the team we have problems.

We can only wait so long for Jozy to "adapt" he has not shown so far that he can do it, I recon he has another 6 months to come good or he should be moved on. We cant afford to wait forever, not on the sort of money he is on, we need to see a return of some sort, just trying hard is not enough at this level.

Got to deliver this season no doubt, having two other player in his position fit will help. I think he buckled under the pressure being the only option. He's got my support but failure is not an option or it's bye bye.

Big season for Jozy and I really hope he delivers.

I really can't grasp the criticism of him after just one season - for a club that prides itself on giving opportunities to people who are committed, who try hard, and who have the potential to improve. The amount of times I've heard 'all we ask for is 100%...'

How many times have we criticised Bent and Gyan because they ****ed us over/didn't care about the club/didn't try or show loyalty? And yet some supporters tear Jozy apart too.

We can't have it both ways.
