Just a small point, about SC sending out an experimental team last night, I would have thought cementing the basics of the side you want to play most weeks is the idea, so 8 changes a bit over the top (we are not Man City, Arsenal etc.) and People paid money to go and watch the game last night surely there has to be some recognition of that fact by both the management and players. It ain't gonna do the teams confidence any good either.
I would rather have our best team fresh for Saturday and to that extent I was disappointed that he didn't change the whole 11. We didnt need to risk picking up injuries in a unimportant game.
Agree. I was a little annoyed Baldock was playing. Would have been just our luck to see him stretchered off. Glad we're out of the league cup to be honest, want the club to focus on the league and JPT. As they are both something we can realistically win.
'Mind you that's based on ONE game so I could be talking complete bollocks' You'll never be on your own RODney on this forum. I judged a very unfit Elliot after 1 game and how wrong was I. Pretty much agree with your midfield combinations although I'm not sure yet if Smith is that much better than Pack. Pack looks a better 'screen' in front of our defence.
Its is ironic that City have a third kit this season celebrating a cup game, while last night they played in a competition they have reached the semi final in but now appear to have a disregard for. They should have charged a couple of quid.
The performance last night will put some people off going on Saturday I dare say. We need 100% better effort against Colchester and 3 points to go with it as a 'sorry' for last night. No excuses......we must win our home games if we even want to think about gaining any success and Colchester at home must be 3 points.
Knowing that you made that mistake made me brave enough to make that statement I agree ref Pack, but last night he seemed lost maybe because he didn't have an outlet alongside him. I wanted to see the players not playing Saturday really give SC a headache for Saturdays team sheet but sadly they didn't.
Maybe he wanted to get him cuptied to put of potential suitors and I would disagree with you about the JPT as well. It's all very nice a Wembley visit but it can be a distraction in a promotion push. I believe that the Rovers knocking us out the other season actually helped our promotion cause
we can play 3 subs, so a game like this one we should have either played Saturdays finishing team and subbed 3 of the non subbed of them by say the 70th minute so 6 players get to play 90 mins and 3 20 minutes... you cant really say who as it is after the event... but something like.... Fielding 03 Williams 22 Ayling 04 Flint .............elabd Wagstaff 17 Cunningham..........bryan Pack 07 Smith 02 Little Emmanuel-Thomas 18 Wilbraham ..........Burns or whatever wherever whoever
And another complaint about last night. I know this don't really concern the ex Eastenders but I was pissed off without having a scoreboard without the clock. You don't realise how used to things you get. And like others say, paint those white boards and put a net up to prevent the balls going over the fence. Or use common sense and put some spare balls with ball boys down that end. But please if you're reading these DL or even JL and SL paint them at least, they looked terrible.
IT looked a very poor state of affairs, they listened to us regards the dolman entrance, they should put a huge net up to stop the balls going over bit like the big golf nets stopping balls from hitting houses and cars etc. .
I was hoping they might do an Arsenal and paint faces into the board to look like crowds ( not very well but at least it was something ) felt like I was visiting grounds back in the 80's - 90's
I think they painted pictures of their fans which if they all look like Shiny would explain why they all looked weird.
City are putting adverts up in front of South stand demolition / building works at some point. Fans had offered to do some artwork on boards or put flags over them. Amateurish not doing something and leaving it all white for the time being.
