12/13 was his big year when he was a regular starter and not a rotation striker - and he did poorly. Season after, when he was no doubt more used to his role and pressure as the number one striker at the club, he got 15 in 36. The comparisons to Sturridge aren't just in the stats, it's his overall play style. Very similar and would suit us to the ground. Anyway, he's the most suited striker for our team that I can think of. The rest wouldn't fit, too expensive, are too old or can't pass a medical.
Lacca, Eto'o, Cavani, or Bony? Lacca has a terrible scoring record (his assists aren't really up there either) ... we need a striker, someone who can score goals. Lacca would be a lot of money for someone who wont help us. Eto'o- he's not terrible, but at the tail end of his career- a bit like Toure last season... yeah, he did OK for a few months then tailed off. Eto'o would be a stop gap measure. He'd sell a few shirts, but not really be too inspiring for the future. So Cavani or Bony? I wouldn't be unhappy with either. Cavani of course is the bigger name... the better player too, but I don't think he is that far ahead of Bony in ability. Cavani would probably be the best signing for 2014/15 but Bony would probably be the better long-term signing. That's OK... we never wanted you as mod!
He'll be in Croatia now. Like I said, he ended up not being able to come on Saturday afternoon. I had too much to fit in with Emily with my mate being ill and my knees being sore to rearrange it.
Did he do a cost-benefit analysis and the "pro's" of your daughter didn't quite outweigh the "con's" of your good self?
Cavani is a world class player. A bit embarrassing to compare him with those 3. We got no chance with Cavani - he'd go for 50m, plus PSG needs him.
PSG are listening to offers and Cavani fancies playing in England. I think he is perfectly realistc. Its just a case of value for money and our recruitment system. - Lacazette looks pretty good here:
If PSG have to sell in order to buy Di Maria (FFP really kicking in?) then the sale of Cavani may be realistic, however, I could see them trying to off load the lesser lights first.. Unless, of course, Cavani kicks up a stink and wants to go.. I wouldn't say no.. but he won't be short of options should he wish to move. Maybe get Luis to does us on last favour and talk us up?
Ben Smith ‏@BenSmithBBC 8m #LFC still looking for a striker. Have enquired about Benzema, Falcao and Cavani. But have been told 'no chance'
i saw this......So according to Ben, no actual target, just randomly wandering around strikers saying "do want to join us"? Seems strange. If we had really been going for any of those names we'd have started inquiring before now.....at the very least as soon as Remy fell through. Well if true, it's bite the bullet and pay up for Bony time isn't it?
He even runs like Sturridge and is completely one footed too! Stats may suggest otherwise, but for me, he'd link up brilliantly and fit in with our style of play. I think he'd bag plenty of goals with the likes of Coutinho and Sterling next to him.
