A perfectly logical and reasonable post attacked by a cheap shot in SBR's name. What for? I heard there were a few anti Robson shouts, on my grandsons life, I never heard one, if there was, it would have been a very silent minority.

Don't get on you moral high horse when thousands of your fans used to sing vile songs about him. Or did that not happen?

I've read reports that it happened but I don't live in the North East so never witnessed it. Not denying that it happened but it bares very little relevance to the point I was making.

I'm sure Not606 is a multi team forum meaning posters from all clubs are welcome on all boards <ok>

I've think you've clicked on the wrong forum.

It was a perfect response to the fickle remark. Perfectly true and not in any way a cheap shot. If you never heard the anti robson shouts you must have been in the minority.

http://www.express.co.uk/comment/co.../Shame-on-the-critics-who-now-mourn-Sir-Bobby

I'm not denying that Sunderland fans mocked him (calling him senile etc) but then again he was manager of out main rivals but we never spat at him. But Newcastle fans now seem to have this rose tinted view of a fantastic relationship with Robson.

Fickle wasn't that the word used?

Why bring him into it? It was a perfectly valid post but as usual, the sight of a black and white username whips some of you up into a frenzy for some apparent reason. That article is way OTT.

As for this being a sunderland board, grow up.

No, I like it on here. One or two of your mods ask me to leave, not a problem. I just like to see fair play.

By the way, there's very few of our fans interested in Colback at all.

Ronaldo is the world's most prolific raper, the Sevilla back four got a raging dry-bumming off him last night in front of 50,000 people.

You told me to go back to our board and comment on a Colback thread?

Let's agree to disagree and leave it there?

Not interested in this debate but I was watching Look North when they reported on the abuse Robson got inside SJP.
I also remember the tone of the supporters as they left the ground and there were some very harsh comments about Robson and his age.

Craig Bellamy: “My greatest memory there was Bobby Robson, playing for Bobby Robson, so you know that was it really. I was lucky he signed me and just to be involved with him, because he understood the club and you know he knew what the club was, he knew what the people were, which I think was key to going into a new club. You have to understand who you represent and who you are trying to play for, and he made it clear to us. we had a good team, we had a really good team, we were young, alot of athletes and we finished third, fourth and fifth.
The year we finished fifth I could just sense it wasn’t, a few of the fans were expecting more they were expecting league titles. Newcastle united win league titles? I don’t think so! And I just thought they expected and things started to turn alittle bit and I just felt we didn’t start the season well particularly like we didn’t start any season well to be honest but we always came back with a late run you know, and just got there. We didn’t start one season too well and I can just remember, alot of fans were turning and booing and Skysports would be outside the ground and Newcastle fans would be moaning about this and that, and it just led to the manager getting sacked, which was just a complete shock and was embarrassing really when I look back on it now, how he can get the sack, but I also thought the crowd played a big part of in that as well, and for me I’ve had options to go back up there since and I wont! no chance! because I played for him and there is no one else to play for up there.”

As I've said I don't want to get involved in this but there's a tendency with Newcastle to rewrite history.

They'll deny ever saying 'Messiah, Geordie Nation, King Kev, Cockney Mafia' etc etc etc and always deny giving Robson abuse.

It's simply not true.

There's only one bloke I've ever heard say geordie nation and that was John Hall. The others have been widely used, no denying, although not used by myself.

I don't think that it is even debatable that Bobby Robson did get abuse off fans which undoubtedly contributed to him leaving the club. However, this was a serious debate regarding what is undoubtedly a moral dilemma, and it is a shame that it has been side tracked..

To be fair to the Geordies who did or did not shout abuse at Robson, they didn't know they were gonna get Souness as a replacement <laugh>

There's plenty of United fans who've given Fergie **** over the years, especially when we started seasons poorly, but it doesn't deny those same people the right to call him a legend. All you need is a bit of perspective and some people are able to forge perspective whereas others, like the nuggets who shout abuse, need it in it's physical form.
