I've hardly seen him play as don't watch much Portuguese football so am not inclined to comment on his ability. Perhaps you do study the Portuguese league closely. Can't say I agree with your comment that Argentina's forwards dragged the team to the final. They scored two goals and conceded one in the knockout stages. Bizarre.
I don't study it closely, but I do watch a few games from time to time. To be honest he's pretty average at club level too, and that's a league well below the standard of the PL. But time will tell. LVG obviously knows more about football than me, so if he likes him, he could be a good buy. But for me - he's far from Utd quality.
If he was signing for Liverpool. skylarker would say he's the finest defender in the world, he fits in Brenda's plans & strategy, and worth double they paid for him
That's pretty much what he's done with Moreno despite there being very limited evidence to support the player's capabilities. Perhaps Real, Barca and Atletico all failed to spot the world class potential of the 22 year old Spaniard!
No, I'd say Shaw and Moreno are about equal and the difference in price is due to the fact shaw is English and a bit younger, so you pay a premium. Rojo is the level beneath them both imho Aren't Southampton in for Rojo ?
I would put Moreno above Shaw to be honest. Purely because he has been playing at a high level for longer. Shaw is just out of nappies. Shaw could definitely over take him though given the opportunity.
I know absolutely nothing about Moreno as I don't watch whichever club he used to play for. I know a bit about Shaw and think he has tremendous potential. I know nothing about Rojo other than what I've learned since he was linked with United ie he played in a World Cup final and was named in the team of the tournament (although as it's been pointed out, Argentina only conceding one goal in the knock out stages had very little to do with their progress in the tournament, it was all down to the massive two goals they scored!). I would have thought being linked with Southampton would be seen as a positive for Liverpool fans considering the club's current transfer strategy!
With a first team career that started at the same time, despite being three years older. Maybe Moreno has more trouble with potty training?
You mean three international caps? The same number as Shaw. Same number of caps, plus being three years older = better player?!
So he has I did make the assumption that because he is older, he would have been playing longer. In that case, I would say they are both **** hehe Seriously though I probably shouldnt have said anything because I am one of those people that do not rate Shaw much right now anyway, and I dont watch Spanish football because it is **** so havent seen much of Moreno. Ill put it down to the Tramadol.
They were but they've just sent their scouting list onto Brenton to save the bother. #cutoutthemiddleman
Rule #786 of the football fans handbook; all Manchester United players, past and present are rubbish. Rule #1297 of the football fans handbook all players liverpool sign are world class Read the ****ing rules people. 2 pages of bullshit ffs!!!
Rojo's part-owners in row with Sporting over Manchester United bid - http://www1.skysports.com/football/...-row-with-sporting-over-manchester-united-bid
I thought all this nonsense of "part ownership" was illegal after the Tevez & Macharino episode. So how come its cropped up again?
