A few for the Kempton evening meeting. Kempton 6.50 Sakhee's Rose 10-1 EW I have backed this horse before as she travels like a horse that should be able to get her head in front. It's never quite worked out when I have backed her before but I am going to trust my instinct from watching her races here at Kempton before. I think 10-1 and Hughsie on board make it a speculative bet worth placing. 8.20 Rotherwick 6-1 Nap This horse looked very progressive at Goodwood last week and if translating that form to the Kempton surface should be bang there at the business end of this race. I would have expected 7-2 so 6's is a gift. 9.20 Good Authority 4-1 This horse has the ability to win this, no problem. Does he have the draw or the Jockey to steer him to victory from that draw? I am not sure but if the draw is overcome he should give a good show. best of luck

Early doors betting trends look like we have some serious opposition in the form of FULL DAY, I have covered it just in case, bloody coward.
A couple of decent looking ex-flat horses in that race stick - looks a decent heat. Full Day and Officer Drivel both rated low-70s on the flat, although that is no guarantee in this sphere of course - Pipe's runner Intermath was rated mid-80s on the flat but has already had a multitude of headgear in 3 runs over hurdles. Are the Pipe's looking to get this one a handicap mark? I'll take a chance on your mate Jim Best having Officer Drivel ready first time up.
Though interested in racing for sometime the lights went fully on in 1967. On this equivalent day that year Dick Hern (who had had a miserable 1966 due to the dreaded virus) had his best 2yo colt and filly make their debuts in 2 competitive Salisbury races. La Mome sloshed up in the fillies heat (she went on to eventually compete in the 1000G) and then Remand made a huge impression when winning a 6f event that featured a lot of nice colts. Remand went on to win the Solario and Royal Lodge and to be rated only 1lb and 2lb inferior to Petingo and Vaguely Noble. Both winning horses were owned by Jakie Astor and ridden by Joe Mercer as he imperiously strode to his first Jockey's Championship. For Hern it was a terrific season as he eventually won 60 races with a stable of only 60 horses (not many people do that), and at the end of that season he received the infusion of top-breeder Brook Holliday's horses: things couldn't be better. It was all not to be. Mercer, 19 clear at the time, broke 2 vertebrae a week later in a fall at Folkestone (he eventually won the championship 22 years later). Remand came out and won the Chester Vase but then with the whole stable went down with the virus, which did not leave the stable properly until the end of the next season. With all the firepower Hern had the next year he only managed 20 winners. The studs of Astor, Holliday and others were put in decline by two seasons of non-performance. Hern often entered some of his best 2yos at Salisbury as it is such a good, fair, galloping track. I look at today's card and wonder where the horses are of the class of '67. Ladies day at my local course Beverley, an event I stopped attending many years ago. I do however fancy in the 3:35 Noodles Blue Boy goes well at the course and although up 5lb for a nose second last week a mark of 75 doesn't look beyond him. From the plum draw here is hoping he can make every post a winning one
MY SPIRIT is friendless in the market but imho has looked like a horse capable of winning up in grade
If bev is testing enough economic crises could prove a handful at double figures 156 tc in the first the odds where much better early door but tinternet is pants , I really cant pick between the three

I put this up last time out Ginga, I went in far braver than was wise and got my fingers burnt. I do still belive this horse is on a great mark and has not been seen to anywhere near her best, hence I have gone in again today.
-More drinks promotions such as buy one get one free..too much sobriety currently at these morguesque meetings. -Themed fixtures such as Swingers Night for the more discerning customers. -Massage parlours to allieviate the stress of punting and somewhere to offload you wadge if successful. -Wider use of facilities such as after race Dogging in the carpark...an area often not fully utilised. -More W.C. facilities on busy days..queues can be riculously long and this will hardly attract the large number of Cottagers who enjoy a wager. Food for thought perhaps,if a little left field.
