Its the first step in a long process, that doesn't need to be rushed or cobbled together. So far, 2 meetings, and I'd say it's been a roaring success so far. Might not be loads of topics, or even the ones *you* want discussed, but it's been a diverse set of topics, and all things that affect us all one way or another. Both meetings have been reported in full by PLT and OLM (thanks you two btw), both were perfectly happy to raise any issues requested by forum members if they had the chance, and PLT did that, so I'd say this is an excellent way to start off communicating with the fans.
A couple of weeks ago, i can't remember the thread, there was a whole load of squabbles and deleted posts. It was you against everyone else. Thats gone, back to the topic, amazingly i agree with happy ( see post 82 ) its a start. Did you apply to go to the meetings ? "If the club seriously want to communicate with the fans, this is a piss poor way to do it." How should it be done ?
I think it's a really positive move and want it to be successful, it's my cynicism, experience and tales from people involved and others that are setting alarm bells ringing. So far, it's effectively been a press release of things that have already happened, yet some seem to imply these things are a result of the meeting. Despite what's put, members can and should be elected, otherwise it's just he who shouts loudest, which is one of the criticisms of the regime that led to the group, and possibly it's change from the initial concept. As it stands, it's open to abuse as those on the group are selective with why they're there, so can be equally selective of what's put forward. People will hide behind a gray area. I feel it's a positive gesture from Mr Allam. I don't want to see him getting more bad information on fans views that will encourage the wrong decisions because he thinks it's what we want, when he's been ill-informed.
Everyone else? It was the usual 2 or 3 backed up by another 2 or 3 with historic grievances. Should have been modded out as it was seriously boring and non productive.
This is copied from their e-mail reply: Thank you for your email. Unfortunately season cards are no longer available. That's it, seems pretty final to me!
It's interesting that some feel FC's atmosphere's good despite their lower numbers. Adam Pearson, who's generally more in tune with the fans, has just put out the plan for their passes next season, and E1 to E3 is the designated singing area. I reckon he gets better advice from the fans actually involved and affected.
Bumping it up suits me fine. It stands more chance of being noticed. If the end result is that the club realise the advice they've been given so far is not representative of fans views, it'll mean they look at it more closely. I can see why some wouldn't like that, but most fans should. It looks to me that the club realise they got things wrong due to poor advice and are actively trying to put things right. As fans, we should do all we can to support that.
What are you seeing that we should be supporting? Was it poor advice or, as it appeared to be, simple arrogance from a very opinionated owner? Could the more consultative style be a true effort to be seen to be just that, consultative; as required by any future name-change process? Are Hull Tigers winning the hearts and minds of the City Till We Dies?
