One game, one win, RR, don't get carried away, i remember you saying we were going to walk the league when your old mate SOD was in charge, yes we have a better team, a better manager, but 45 big games to go, so steady on, yes i think we will finish higher than last season, but need a few more to the squad, then i may be as optimistic as you.

 

Truth I think is that once we had let loose a couple of times they realised what they were up against, and seized up. They were bound to be a threat, the title favourites at home on day one. I reckon we just sobered them up a little.

The vital ingredients are there.
Now Cotterill has to drive the players and keep them focused, remain humble and channelled.

 

Typical forum, is why I don't come on much.....talk about getting carried away, one bloody game and we're promoted already. Bet if we lose a couple, I'm gonna be reading SC don't know what he's doing. Long, long way to go, IMO, we looked ok, that's it, had Sheff Utd pounced on our mistakes at the back, could well have been a different story..
In my opinion the harder games are against the likes of Fleetwood etc, whom will always fancy their chances against the big boys.
It's a great start lets hope it continues!

Yes a great start and considering we haven't beaten SHeff U away since 1957 and Nigel Clough always seems tactically to get the better of us, an unexpected result.

However I did notice that when playing from the back, the back 3 had a tendency to bypass the middle 5 and try play it long to the top 2 with limited success. I. Would have thought that in a 3-5-2 formation, to bypass the middle 5, only invites pressure on to us...if we can't hold up the ball.

Not exactly one for.
I said on here the summer before last that our first season back in Div 1 would be difficult, but that we would win the title the season afterwards.
So i'm not exactly jumping on the bandwagon am I.

Anyway, what is wrong with getting enthused about ones football team ?
There's enough misery in the world without introducing it to your football team because they won.

Maybe the rugby will give you more satisfaction - nobody really cares if they win, lose, or draw

 

Nothing wrong with getting enthused about ones football team, but over 90 mins of our first game? In my book, it's what's known as getting carried away!
I like to give it at least 12 games before making a judgement. I Think it's called common sense!

 

Hey ho we beat the favorites in their own backyard,their fans are praising us and they like our players.and we looked a quality unit.
The comments above are from utd fans about our team.
Personally think it is great news.

i did and still say he was hung out to dry,if he had SCs finances to spend it could have been so different.
However the new signings look very good indeed,that has to go down to SC and fair play to him.
If he gets Agard then we will be unstoppable as long as the defense can keep the high standards up as Saturday.

 

We need to be as measured in our reaction to a victory - even away against the favourites - as we need to bee measured in our reaction to a defeat - which WILL happen at some time.
