Too right mate.....Like all the other stereotypes from people who have never been here...Yet seem to think they can come out with any old ****e.....Its like me saying Southampton is full of immigrants...I bet its full of top people..
Don't be so touchy. Hull, like Southampton, and like most large cities/towns has **** bits and has nice bits. There's only really a slight variance in the ****/nice ratio. Now back on topic, give us your thoughts on Long.
An annoying gnat of a player, will be useful if we are continuing the high press, a tactic that WBA and Hull don't employ. £10m dosen't really shout shrewd purchase though.
Whatever.... Long. To be honest. Difficult one....Though I have not been too impressed recently, seems to lose interest pretty quickly if he's not getting a full-on service....Could have, should have had a hat-trick in the 1st half last Thursday night in the Europa Cup ..Fell over when 1v1 with the keeper then missed a header when it looked easier to score. Substituted on 75mins, Aluko comes on and scores with first touch....Attributes, very quick and uses space well....Downsides...Injury prone....You'll get a few good games from him then you won't see him for weeks.....Good luck for the season guys...
so, Shane: got pace & works hard, decent movement, will win his share of pens / free kicks cos he can go down a bit easy - curse of the modern game - on his day can finish but not always his day often nuff, missed 3 decent chances in our euro game t'other night. Not worth 10 mil I don't think but the market seems to have gone a bit daft innit. All the same hope he doesn't go...
This, on top of everything else, will finally persuade me that the board doesn't have much of an idea what they are doing.
On the bright side, I've spent all summer wondering when we'd get in a player that Ralph would describe in an interview as "having a hockey mentality". It's Long. It's definitely Long.
Jim White ‏@JimWhite 30s Just heard that striker Shane Long is on the move again. £12m fee agreed to take him from Hull City to Southampton. #saintsfc #hcafc
