Surely, surely, if we would spend that much on long we should just pay 2-5milluon more and go for ings, who is younger and a saints fan?!
Replace the "saints fan" with "better" and it's solid reasoning. I can't imagine he'd cost more than £10m himself, anyway.
It could be the old bluffer. Make Burnley sell up. They seem happy to let him see out his contract and go for free next summer
10m is too much for Long, but I have to laugh as sooooo many people have been whinging that we're not signing people or we're not signing in the right position that I think Les must have been reading the forum and is just trying to keep you all happy *maybe we should have just left them be to get on with it*
Many of us were concerned that it was dragging on so deep into summer because teams tend to do stupid, panicky things when they have a bunch of money to spend and holes to fill late in the transfer window. I don't think that this really shows us.
While not shouting this one from the rooftops, I'm safe in the knowledge that real management experience trumps Football Manager experience.
I can only assume that Hull aren't interested in selling - because that is the only logic I can find in a fee of £10m. As I said on transfer thread, I do like him, and I certainly think he would improve our squad. But £10m? Surely that can't be right. Not only is it far too much for Long, but it potentially suggests that that would be it for us signing strikers this summer. And right now I wouldn't be able to say that that would please me.
Before he signed for hull didn't his Mrs go on social media and say she didn't want to move to that ****hole. Maybe someone needs to Facebook Mrs long, see what's going on.
Why would we buy him? I also hope you are right! Is this a cunning plan from Les to take the attention away from our other 'secret' target????
Anyhow, rather than doing what Liverpool/Spurs fans do which annoys us, in having a pop about players that aren't ours (and I personally don't know enough to make up my mind completely on this), let's ask the Hull contingent their thoughts - 1 - would you be gutted to see him go? 2 - is he worth anything like £10m
Just loosely translating what she implied. I am sure Hull is a lovely place, wasn't it nomlnated for European city of culture?
A resident gob ****e who probably has never been north of the Watford gap is bad mouthing my home city... If Long goes good luck to the fella...
