No strong backup for Migs though. Although I don't think Jones is as bad as he's sometimes made out to be. He has that uncanny ability to look even worse than he really is. He always looks terrible, but somehow rarely concedes.
Well i must say i'm eager like everyone else to hear what the fee really is and the full details as i think seville have put out such a line that they cannot admit to caving. there has to be more than 12mil to this.

so.... i think this is nearly fair. I do feel that we can always add another CM and the lucas/gerrard roel is to my mind an open point that we may see things happen in in the next 2 weeks. I have to say a new GOOD striker who can play out style and enable a version of 4-1-2-1-2 and I would feel we are better than certainly the early part of last year. we had a run of 11 wins on the trot with no distractions within it and frankly I'd rather look to compare us to before christmas 12 month ago My point being; we took 7/12 max then. I think I'd like to see us achieve more than that with the cups added in so that would indicate a confidence we have a better looking squad.... but by the end does that mean a top 4 finish? no it doesn't unless we do it for the full year. I will still maintain that there are scenarios where decisions taken now can come back to haunt us so I am eager to see the GOOD striker we buy... who is it and when... hope is not a strategy after all.. (hoping we keep sturridge fit in other words)
True - but at this moment in time there is no metion of any other payments etc. It could simply be down to the player pushing for the move and Sevilla caving in eventually at £12mil. We bid more before, then pulled out the deal - Perhaps they/he was worried this may happen again and no deal would take place. We'll find out in due course - but even if it turns out to be around 15-20mil I still think we've just bagged a brilliant LB that fit's our style of play down to a tee.

Given that we reportedly had a £60m war chest plus the sale of Suarez (£75m). We should have another £35m ish to spend. Plus any other sales (Agger, Lucas, Kelly, Reina....) Even sold cheaply, that should give us another £15m....and I havent even included Borini and Assaidi who may both yet go too for a combined £20m!! In short, we could still improve the team and the squad to the tune of another £50m....minimum! Worried about such upheaval tbh....but happy days nonetheless. Could only dream of splashing this type of cash a few years ago!!
We won't be getting another keeper and can't see us getting another midfielder as we are well stocked for numbers (despite us thinking Lucas/Allen can be improved on). A striker will be the only one coming I I'd have thought. We don't have to spend everything this window, we can just save some for the Winter window.
I still think (hope) that there might be a surprise signing. We have been linked to a few keepers....and Mignolet isn't perfect.....wouldn't surprise me if we do sign a keeper but I agree that once we get a striker under our belt, we can wait.
Can't see us getting a new #2 keeper, and definately can't see us getting Masch. I think we'll make one more signing (a striker) and then our summer business will be complete Except outgoings - I would imagine the extra money left over will either carry over till January, or go towards the new stadium development.
OK, I'll go for no keeper if we sign: Shaqiri (£30m) Masch (£12m) Eto (free) And we can save the odd £8m plus anything from Borini/Assaidi sales for January
Yeah there's no need to just bust every penny because its on offer - the right players only is the philosophy, if they're not available we wait (or get eto'o )
