Looks like Shane Long to Saints is happening. Enquiry reported by Sky, but "ITK" k.billy on SaintsWeb thinks it will happen. Decent yet unspectacular player, although the rumoured £10m fee is too much I think. Still, he will provide energy to our front line.
If this is the end of our striker business then please no. If he's a squad addition, then fine, but we can do better for 10 million.
I really hope this doesn't materialise. It smacks of being lazy in the scouting department, urgent to the point of desperation in the transfer window and £10m is an absolute rip-off. What has he done since he moved to Hull to raise his transfer fee?

I can understand why people will be underwhelmed or disappointed, but I was fearing we wouldn't bring in anyone else up top, so Long is better than nowt.
Long is one of those players which I like and respect, but wouldn't want him playing for us. £10 million just makes it worse.

£10m is expensive but i'm always impressed with his work rate. He has had some injury issues, but I think that's good competition for Jay Rod and he is probably capable of getting double figures and another positive is he won't have to adjust to the league.
Sorry guys but this is a non-starter. He signed for us half a season ago and is now playing in europe for us.. we paid 7-8m for him, possibly more with addons, why would we sell him?
Hope you're right. I echo our other posters when I say that I like him (and hull) but with the amount of money we have made we should be attracting better.
