So I make this the current squad (with a tiny bit of conjuncture). How do you think we'd get on if we started the season with this mob? Ignore the goalie situation because that is obviously going to change. GK: Oxley DF: Rosenior, McShane, Dawson, Dudgeon, Chester, Hobbs, Cooper, Bradley. MF: Harper, McKenna, Kilbane, Olofinjana, Bullard, Koren, Evans, Cairney, Stewart, Devitt, Holohan, Atkinson. FW: Fryatt, Simpson, McLean, Barmby, Adebola, Cullen, Garcia.
Actually looking at it, it doesn't seem that bad at all. Of course, McKenna and Adebola are not our players, so take them out. The squad we currently have (despite only having one goalkeeper - Get Joe Cracknell in there on the bench ) would probably be a mid table championship one, pushing for top half. And Viking Erik - Why is the majority of a team we cheered on last season suddenly poor?
I don't think the team's poor. I just think we'd struggle because of how good the other teams in the League are! Also, I was thinking more along the lines of us doing poorly due to burnout, etc (and I'm also a pessimist).
I don't think we'll let a 17 year old keeper anywhere near the first team yet, even if he does have an England call up.
We let a 17 year old defender play in our Premier League season, it's not beyond the realms of impossibility. Nah, I know he won't get called up, but as it stands at the minute, with Billy Ward leaving, is he the next in line after Oxley?
Given the players you've listed I would like. Oxley Rosenior - Chester - Hobbs - Dudgeon Koren - Mckenna - Evans Simpson - Fryatt - Stewart Obviously Stewart won't be fit and we will have a few more players hopefully, so the eventual team will be different. We really do need another winger IMO.
They are now! That squad should be right now apart from Richard Garcia who will have woken up this morning unemployed! Poor little sport.
No news yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't get a deal now(though he's not yet appeared on the PFA list)
WELL. TOP 6 DEFFO. Maybe top2. When you compare our squad with all the others. Furthermore, most of them know each other already. Add in Ayala maybe Top spot.

Current Squad - What if it started the season? We would be exactly the same to me possibly worse. Last season we lacked creativity in midfield, nothing has changed as yet. We are top heavy with centre midfield players. Plus we lost our best out and out defender in Gerrard.
