Would you sign either Hatem Ben Arfa or Tiote if we could?

I'm not saying that we are rumoured to be signing them or could even afford them. However. I was just listening to talk sport and they are saying that Newcastle are trying to offload them both before the end of the transfer window and as the window gets closer they are likely to accept very low bids in context to their values.

Ben Arfa seems to have really gotten under Pardew's skin and burnt every bridge he has at the club. On his day he looks like he could be one of the best players in the world but that is rare and he usually looks sub par. His lazy and selfish attitude and failure to track back has annoyed his own players. Definitely being a luxury player. Potentially could disrupt the dressing room.

But with the price being so low could he be worth a punt? Bruce is notorious for being able to get the best out of players and possibly he could do the same with Arfa.

    Personally I would say no.

As for Tiote. I was shocked to hear that Newcastle want rid. On his day he looks a top quality player and an absolute rock in midfield that loves to drive forward. A little inconsistent and can sometimes be incredibly hot headed. Some people think we need another central midfielder for cover and competition. Not necessarily him but I definitely think he is the style of footballer we should look at.

Tiote - yes. I still feel we need a more defensive and mobile midefielder.

Ben Arfa - don't need him

Yes to both of them. If it's a choice between them I'd go Tiote as we still need a solid midfielder

Is this a failed attempt at humour or a genuine comment?

Ben Arfa is like Taarabt....loads of talent and on his day a game changer...but a selfish moody type that could destroy our teams cohesion....no thanks!!

Tiote could be useful...if he came cheap might be worth considering.

This is what happens when you buy a load of French.

    They act...French.

I'm presuming these two are both French, otherwise my point is invalid.

If not French, then French speaking and possibly raised in France.

    Basically French.

    That's why.

I'd take Tiote though. No probs.

Tiote would be a great signing and would allow thudd & livermore a bit more freedom to venture forward.

Ben Arfa is a luxury player. Lazy when defending but without a doubt is pure class on the ball when in the mood. Only as a fat would i take him mind.

But,, Can be have him for the game up north on the weekend of 20th/21st sept please ? <ok>

    A massive NO for Tiote.

Ben Arfa a hit and miss player, no thanks. Tiote I would take like a shot, would be a great holding mid-fielder to have.

Jeez, some people think Tiote isn't good enough?

Arsenal are rumoured to be bidding £8m for him.

Tiote is one of the best holding midfielders in the league - I'd take him like a shot. I think he'd be ideal for Arsenal though, and that's where I see him ending up.

Ben Arfa is a strange one, ability wise he's far to good to play for a team with our - and to be fair Newcastle's ambition - but he's too inconsistent to build a team around.

Either way, if either was available and willing to come I'd take them without a doubt.

Tiote I'd have like a shot. He's outstanding. Prone to the odd mistake when he's the last man and that is often highlighted as a weakness but to me it merely demonstrates how assured he is on the ball. He has the confidence and ability to start attacks and to sweep up. He was outstanding by the side of Cabeye and he would be along side Huddlestone.

Ben Arfa is unplayable on his day. But he's inconsistant and unpredictable. He should be the greatest player in the world but obviously isn't.

I was talking to one of Newcastle's Centre backs a year or so ago and he said that he prefers not playing with Ben Arfa in the team. It makes his job so much easier. Mind you he said that he'd rather have Obertan! Ben Arfa is a maverick, but if he'd come I'd take him.
