    Eurostar is not a problem, for me and junior to get from St.Pancras to Belguim(with onward travel to Gent) is a total of £312.00, the problem is Brough to Kings Cross is another £200.

    Manchester flights are £225 each, but then the airport is actually miles out of Brussels and you've still got to get from there to Gent to get to the hotel.

    Driving's the cheapest option, but I don't really fancy driving 7 1/2 hours each way.

    Ferry is the best option surely?

    Not for price but if you can afford it and can get the time off it's the best way to travel.

    Found this on getting from Charleroi airport to Ghent;

    'Charleroi Airport doesn't have a station so you have to either take take the shuttle bus (1 hour) to Brussels, which delivers you to Gare du Midi, and a train from there (30 minutes) or a local bus to Charleroi's railway station (10 minutes and then train to Brussels Gare du Midi and again, change there for Ghent - roughly 1h30 in total.'

    So the onward journey is only an hour and a half, train prices are next to nothing (about £15 each for a return journey), which makes flying a decent option, its just if you can be bothered with trains on the other side.

    Is that for one person?

    If so, it's the same as I said.

    Sorry I thought you meant another £200 each, I posted before engaging my brain.

    For me the drive is easier, in fact its not much more than coming up for a home game. The ferry adds a break and so I don't think that it will be too much at all.

    Driving is definitely the best way. Stock up on booze & cigs and all. Also cuts out ****ing about at airports and delayed flights.

    For you lot up north I'd just hop on the ferry from ull. No brainer, it's right on your bloody doorstep.

    The Zebrugge ferry is now full and the Rotterdam one is over £600 for two people in a car.

    Fair enough.

    Driving isn't too bad for me, Dover is only a 3 hour drive if I go at the right time. I can see why other forms of transport appeal to you, it's a long way. I'd say I'm about on the limit of reasonable driving range.

    Jesus Christ, that's a lot. I know it's peak time but didn't think it'd be that much. Can't expect they get much business normally.
