According to the HDM, Quinny is to sit down with SB, to determine his future. He wants to play and not just to be a squad player. As long as City are still in Europa League games, he could be very useful and also get a good slice of those games. So - should he stay and, if we're out of the Europa, be free to go in the January window? http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Excl...cuss-future/story-22339065-detail/story.html?
Gutted but he'll be going. He wants to play, he's a genuine lad. We will get money for him at least. Hope Brucey works his magic with him but can't see it
If he goes it'll mean a new central midfielder coming in, else we only have 3 people who can play there, which is nowhere near enough.
Steve Bruce will probably tell him to wait to see if we get to the group stage and if we are not in Europe at the January window, he can go.
Probably this^^^, I guess it will also depend on what he could be sold for, if they get a very good offer then they might cash in, as he is in the last year of his contract. Personally I hope he stays, but can understand he wants to play.
If he was to go, how much would you reasonably expect? Given last year of contract scenario you would probably say around £1m mark
I think he'll go. He'll have one simple question - can you guarantee me first team football? And Bruce will look him in the eye and regretfully say "no". Shame.
Really like Quinn, was our real best player in 2012/13 (not Elmo), would be sad to see him go, but if Brucey can't guarantee him first team football which he at least deserves at another club, then good luck to him.
Our crème de la Waggy crème and the visages that are the Steves Bruce and Quinn. Anyone wanna suggest the odds on that 4up coming together?
Reality check. Whilst Quinn is popular and has played well when asked to do so, he's not PL starter material. If we are to progress as a club then it's the like of Quinn that have to make way for better players. Same can be said of McShane, Bruce and Boyd....
I had a pint with my breakfast this morning, it's the slippery slope Why though I just want to know why
Harsh but true. I guess the answer is to bring in replacements who believe they are already Prem standard and are prepared to wait their turn rather than drop down a level to secure regular games but on the flip side you don't want people who are happy to sit on the bench and take the money. In an ideal situation you effectively have two players of similar quality vying for one place and the one who is fit and in form get's it until either of those things changes. In reality, it's much tougher than that (although obviously some players can operate effectively in a variety of positions) and it is going to take all of SB's man management skills to keep everyone happy whilst doing the right thing for the benefit of the team.
As I said on a previous thread, I think we should keep him just in case we get relegated. He's literally the perfect player for the Championship and in that eventuality should be the first name on the team sheet. Why not strike him a deal - if we go down next season we'll build a team around you but if we stay up then we'll give you a free transfer and all loyalty payments. He can wait for 9 months more.
