Ach, I'm happy with business so far. Will be happier if Moreno and a striker that is not etoo comes but if not we will see how our injury luck holds out.
Ford also played all the CL group games for Inter when Benitez was in charge! Manquillo has played for Athletico, Sturridge has a winners medal. lovren also featured heavily for Lyon in the CL reaching the last 16. So out of our starting Line up on sun 3 players are CL virgins with an average age of 23!
Remy, Bony, Icardi and Eto'o - my god, our strategy for replacing Suarez has been incredibly poor IMO. Really hope we get Moreno in and then I'll actually be confident in our back line for the first time in a while.
Thats because Suarez is irreplaceable. We are rebuilding the team to play with out him. Markovic, Lallana. Better midfield and defense options. Good business. We just need real quality depth up front.
I know what you mean - he is irreplaceable but it doesn't mean you have target sh*t players with no real strategy. Bony - big, target man. Eto'o - experienced veteran Icardi - young, raw, kinda like Borini Remy - not too bad. 4 targets - all pretty much different from one another. There is no clear strategy in what we're trying to achieve ...
Yes that's true, but there are players who can do a similar job and a lot better than Eto. Like Falcao or Cavani..Reus...Higuain?
well I guess because the rags like the star and express tease us with Falcao and Cavani, and then finally the main broadsheets like the telegraph and guardian come out with a more informed rumour that we're actually talking terms with Eto'o's agent. It's just a bit of a let down
I'd like to think that we're on talking terms with all/most agents! Eto may be our plan C, D or E. Nobody knows if it's even credible....the last I read was that his agent was trying to use the rumour to force Ajax to make a decision. All smoke and mirrors i'm afraid!
Obviously it's a rumours thread but we ask know majority of rumours are bullshit so why get carried away with them? Did anyone seriously believe we would sign Falcao or Cavani?
Fair point. That fat belter Tony Evans is the chief football writer for The Times ffs. please log in to view this image
Broadsheet journo's are generally more professional and are more likely to verify a rumour maybe? but....then again, red tops will tap into an agents phone....
