He will find another club for sure. But that doesn't mean anything at all. LFC are much more risk averse these days, rightly so after the Carroll saga. If it is a health issue, other clubs, specifically those with more risk takers (Arry is one of these) will be less concerned. Still all speculation though. The truth can only come from Remy himself. The clubs can't comment on anything.
Redknapp really doesn't seem that bothered about keeping him. Granted, Remy may not want to be there, but QPR hardly seem to be playing hardball.
QPR and Remy wouldn't want news of a failed medical leaking so makes perfect sense for nothing to be said. Doesn't mean he won't pass a medical elsewhere either
Why? a medical is a medical - if there's a serious issue that makes the player uninsurable then that'll surely be universal? lol, just covering that base, as you know what's going to happen........
The deal fell through. The reason why is obviously going to be the source of endless speculation by the media hacks (which so many of us seem to take to heart for some reason), but none of it matters. Whatever the reason, we no longer want him, so surely that's the end of any meaningful debate on the subject? Our search continues. Therefore: We will be linked with every free agent/unsettled player/newsworthy name the hacks can get their grubby little paws on until we finish our spending or the window closes. Yawn.
So you'd never get a second opinion at the doctors or more than one quote for some work to be done? People have different opinions and ways of working. Insurance companies have difference requirements too. Just for once Tobes, feel free to engage your brain
Except they didn't , the common assumption in the press was indeed that he failed the medical, which was a logical conclusion to come too as the deal broke down immediately after the medical. But I then saw stories ranging from knee to heart problems in the rags. the same rags also printed that he has failed several medicals previously to having failed none at all. If it was a deliberate leak you'd think the " facts" printed would be less speculative. Now as Nozz said it's always possible there was some chit chat, which still highly illegal is a long way from your hinting that it was some deliberate act on the Clubs part. Unless you actually meant that it was some loose lips only rather than a ploy? Then of course you could be right.
Bullshit. Different clubs have different standards of what they are willing to accept medically. No one is uninsurable, the rates maybe be high but they can still be insured. It comes do to what the club thinks is a acceptable risk to money value. Club A my think that paying a player with a potential for long term injuries and low fitness standards isn't worth the risk, club B on the other hand may be willing to take the risk for the games the player does manage to play. The Marveaux (sp?) deal a few years back, Liverpool turned him down cause he failed a medical, Newcastle signed him up days later. How many games has he managed to play for Newcastle?
Where did all the uninsurable comments come from. Nearly everything is insurable.....at a premium. That premium, over whatever the time was, could have pushed the deal over the edge financially. LFC have been silent, Remy has been silent. Everything else is just speculation and can be disregarded whether the player signs elsewhere or not!
Yeah mate, shame your lot didn't ask Newcastle, QPR or Marseille for the phone number of their insurers..............lol Now being linked to Chelsea btw, post Drogba's injury.........
You do know that insurance companies use and change their risk models...that the same information given to each would produce a different recommendation? If not your car insurance premium must be really high by now... If he does go to another club they may well, like a different insurance company calculate any risk differently.... All this is still nothing but speculation again since the Club haven't said anything......still wondering not for the first time why this seems to annoy you. The fact we've said nothing officially as is proper, even if it's medical allows the player to go to other clubs and for them to make their own decisions based on their own models....What exactly is wrong with that?
Yeah mate, didn't you once show just how stringent those standards are at Anfield, by signing a crock, who was injured at the time, for £35m?
can you guys move this to a seperate thread or something? It just clutters the place, this is the rumours thread on transfers, not a pissing contest
Annoyed me? Not arsed in the slightest, as I thought (and said on here) that he'd be a very good signing for you. I just find in amusing how some kopites refuse to countenance anything but the narrative that they find most comfortable. In this case the media are being taken at their word, as it suits.
Eto'o though...... A good signing or not? Still a 1 in 2 striker in fairness, but has an ego the size of Wales
no. not a good signing - Old - Average - Expensive wages - Arrogant and also means we will not look for another striker and will make do with him
Average is a bit a harsh imo. As a squad rotation striker I reckon you could do far worse tbh, the only question mark would be his ego, as he'd see himself as a starter. I wouldn't object to him turning up at our place like.
Eto'o has ridiculous hair. please log in to view this image I'm really not sure on this one. He failed so badly at Chelsea, but we've done pretty well from Chelsea failures.
