Steve Howe playing in September? Very tempted.

Edit: Actually i've been there a few times! Seen steve hackett there twice, and a genesis tribute band, never been disapointed.

General Manager of Operations for a big 3PL in Canada. Sometimes I enjoy it but mostly not, (my client, big oil company is a twat).

Best job was the 23yrs I spent in the RAF, should have stayed in I guess, but the money in civvy street is so much better.

Anyone in Canada looking for a job in logistics should give me a shout, especially in Alberta.

Been a good read, not often we get a thread with this many replies, that doesn't have at least one argument in it.

What a wide variety of jobs people do on here, engineers to zoo keepers, bankers to pe teachers. class.

Cheers to all you took the time to contribute.:emoticon-0150-hands

A contractor currently with an oil company in Norway, job been OK, well paid, but winding down to retirement, don't want to be going offshore when I'm 69. Probably retiring to Thailand, might get Comm to do some work for me on a house. Worst job at Southbank, an insulation company (i was repairing the boilers), a real s**thole, we were told if we needed toilets to use the local pub, cos the factory toilets were a disgrace

Do you do facilities/property management Comm? I have a pal whose firm has some resort and private properties in Thailand that need work. Last time I spoke to him he was over there trying to sort stuff out. Not sure if there's owt in it, or if this may be up your street?

I'll send you a pm mate, you can forward it to him...Although we tend to do new builds, a lot can depend on location, and amount of work.

Well I am now a mathematics teacher and also teach Law A level on the side. I used to be a solicitor but hated it mostly due to the sales aspect if I'm honest (following up on what people have said on here about sales). I loved the theory of the job and was decent enough at it but hated that it wasn't enough to just do the job I always had to try and upsell every time I deal with someones conveyance/wills/etc. and it isn't me at all. I deal with the issue and if the person thinks I've done a good job they will come back - ambulance chasing isn't my scene so I quit (redundancies were being made and I - at the age of 28 - volunteered as I was planning on quitting anyway).

Much prefer my job now. Unreasonable children are so much easier to be patient with and win round than unreasonable adults. Pay is crap though and I suspect I'll be working until I'm 70+ but that's the world now!!

<laugh> Love to mate. In fact is they would change the laws and allowed foreigners to work, without all this paperwork and permits, and having to employ so many locals for each permit, i think we'd probably get rid of most of them, bring over about 10 lads, pay them top wack.

Expect them to work, but also have a blast, like a modern version of auf wiedersehen pet.
