Is wearing the number one really a big issue? Perhaps you might be superstitious but I can't see it being a big deal which number you wear Personally I think Boruc is being replaced because of his market value. Saints seem to have a pretty clear transfer policy and that's buy players with the potential to sell at a higher value and that means players in their early-mid twenties.
So had all his teammates who left signed contracts. The are desperatley trying to hang onto Morgan atm as they know if he goes it really is open season as their words are worthless
Most first choice goalies like to wear the number 1 jersey. Obviously it isnt major issue and i mean no disrespect to kelvin Davis but its weirest thing out

Kelvin Davis wears our #1. He's a club legend with over 260 appearances. He deserves it more than any one else.
He's a club legend that none of you want to see between the goal anymore. So put him out to pasture, far away from the squad. Yet is likely to be your 2nd choice keeper if by some miracle boruc gets himself the move he deserves
Yes i agree it is always a clubs managers choice. Just dont keep a player who wants to play every week and has the talent to play well every week
I know you're a huge Boruc fan and everything and I myself do like him, but to say he deserves a move is pretty silly. He's nearly 36, is in the final year of his contract and has a reputation for being fairly dodgey. A bit of competition will do him good for 12 months.
Yeah, I find the Kelvin situation quite odd. Clearly a great guy, good for morale and whatever but he has to take a backseat in the dept.
This is going to be tough for you Laura. I hope Artur stays and fights, but it sounds like you know more than me on Koeman's thoughts on the keepers. Do you think Artur's alleged lifestyle has a bearing on it?
I had heard the club were unhappy that Artur reported back late for preseason. The date was set as 1st of July. Artur turned up on the 8th, I believe. He booked his honeymoon for the week or so before. Although I was told it was an honest mistake by Artur. Koeman has a thing for smoking too, apparently.
He is only 34 and the reputation hasn't been a problem in last four odd years. It isnt about competiton it is about being told you will not be my first choice and do not stand any chance of being it. Unless injuries happen. And im sorry but Davis being number 1 is just very odd.
He's 34, was a really big part of us staying up in 12/13 (would have been hard to stay up with Gazza and Davis in goal all season) and has generally been very good for us. I'd say he deserves a move if he wants one.
No excuses for that. Though i do believe he offered to return and was told it was ok as was genuine error. The smoking he aint ever going to stop. Right or wrong. Personally im not into pro athletes smoking but half or most europeans ones do
Laura, What happened at Florentina? I can't remember but I know he had a great season and left because he was not number one. Did he not renew his contract because he knew he would not be number one or did he cancel his contract to look for first team football? At Arturs age he is going to want to play as much as he can and I fully appreciate and admire that. As much as I would like him to stay at Saints I hope we let him leave for a fair value.
That's good. Hope you weren't offended by the asking. On your next post you say that he's been told he's hasn't much chance of getting selected. Is that genuine? Was he given a reason? My worry for Artur is that when he was out injured, he definitely put on a lot of weight.... I hope if he stays, he keeps in shape.
