We need a new left back if Garrido plays like that.

They'll probably slap a further three games on top of the one he's already got. Harsh, baring in mind 'push' is something of an exaggeration.

    is it harsh?

do we really want players laying hands on referees?

utterly stupid reaction and fully deserving of a lengthier ban in my opinion. and now he probably misses three or four very tricky matches. i hope he got fined by the club for that reaction.

I think that is a little extreme, signing a new left back for 8 games.

I think it would be a waste.

I genuinely don't think Garrido is a bad player. Van La Parra is very quick, yeah ok, he got done by him, but people are reacting like it's the first time a winger has ever outpaced a full back and got a cross in (his second mistake was very poor but he was left criminally exposed as we were trying to get back into the game).

He'll start the next game I would have thought, at home, let's no drive him to the knackers yard just yet.

If Garrido cannot be made to look like a decent Championship left back then there is something seriously wrong.

the issue garrido has is that he has barely played any competitive football for over a year now. give him a string of five to ten games at championship level and he'll settle down into the role. he wasn't really premier league class but at this level he should be an asset. he did look really ropey yesterday though.

I only saw the 2nd half, but some of our defending was woeful. I'm sure the teams playing us in the next few weeks must be 'rubbing their hands with glee' and hopeful of scoring lots of goals. Let's see if NA can dispel many of the concerns that Canaries fans have and actually give JR some protection - it's all very well 'playing attacking football', but we HAVE to defend as well.

We had 1 shot on target against a team ranked 2o odd places beneath us , i hope it was just jitters but we were awful in pretty much most departments.

I don't get this "one shot on target," when the match report on the club site said Grabban was twice denied by the Wolves keeper. Why would he save one that was off target?

Wolves were poor, I don't buy into that they dominated us and it would have ended 0-0 without the sending off. To be honest we played better than I expected. I was expecting a shambles and people getting pulled all over the place. Defensively I thought we looked very solid until the sending off, no issues there for me, although Bennet should be playing.

I don't even think the tactics were flawed because they still should have won with the players out there. Periods in the first half we passed it quite well

There was certainly a lack of belief and a method to score a goal. I don't think that was down to formation more how to play it. It all fell apart when we stopped passing it and just focussed on those longer counter attacking football. When we passed and interchanged centrally I thought we looked much better, just no real belief or expectancy.

I don't see the point of a diamond for a counter attack because your passing it longer to condensed areas. You need open space for it. Plus Hoolahan is not quick or big enough to pick up the longer ball.

Redmond doesn't seem to be developing in the slightest and has become a one trick pony, predictable, poor movement, straight runs, no vision, no end product. He's starting to look like a player who's got by on speed alone and nothing else.

I think the keeper smothered the ball at his feet.

He played Whittaker at LB against Chelsea, when he pushed Olsson into midfield and I don't recall any reason why Garrido could not have played. So it won't surprise me at all if Whittaker plays LB but I think it would be harsh on Garrido. The good thing is that it would probably see Martin back to RB and Bennett at CB. One game in and our defence is already looking short on cover!

Something's wrong carrabuh, but I'm inclined to agree with you.

I went to the friendly against Celta Vigo and he was playing quite well in the first half and actually looking up and passing the ball, but in the 2nd half, he reverted to type.

EDP recycling rumours that he's wanted by Stoke and IMO he can go and then perhaps NA will have no option but to play Pilks who I consider to be a much better player, though not as fast!! <ok>

I understand, but it was impulse. In that moment he wasn't thinking 'that's the referee' and he wasn't trying to hurt the referee. He didn't want to get sent off and without thinking tried to stop it the only way he knew how, by trying to deny the ref access to his pocket. No malicious intent whatsoever, just thoughtlessness.

Fully agree but unfortunately it is Garrido's turn to be the hate figure this year. Olssen gets skinned time after time by the winger and eventually gets sent off for pulling him back. We like Olssen so just call it an off day. Garrido comes on and before he is up to speed with the game gets skinned by the same winger who crosses the ball for the goal. Martin misses the ball and has lost the goal scorer but we like Martin so heap all the blame on Garrido. Cynical but true.
