Ince. Maybe I am being super critical here but despite Hudds been a complete hero on these boards, I actually think his play has been quite poor recently. he needs to get back to how he was playing when he first joined.
Why would we sell him next summer, are you trying to say he won't perform for us or do you know something we don't? Davies should get a call-up but with Hodgson in charge you worry that he will just keep picking Smalling regardless of reason or sense
I was hoping he would come back better with a season under his belt but I was disappointed with him on Thurs. I know its one game and pre-season but the Tom Huddlestone of this season should be better than last given the number of games under his belt. Last season I thought he got exposed a little against teams with pace (especially at the end of the season) and that is why he was not in the England set up. Still he is one of the best players we have and I would not want to be without him. A 80% TH at Hull City is better than no TH at all.
It should be Huddlestone, but i don't believe in Woy. England need a manager who could oversee a complete change, from the same old. A manager with the bollocks to revolutionise, and start again, without waiting for players to grow too old, before he has the balls to replace them. Ffs,England regulars have to retire themselves these days.
Come on, we're Hull City. Do you really think while woy is in charge we'll have an England player? Would be nice but can't see it.
Huddlestone made the most tackles and most passes for us last season. What more can you ask for from a midfielder? People seem to expect him to score every week but that obviously isn't going to happen. He'd be my bet. The opening is there now Gerrard has retired. He should at least br given a chance to win that place. Livermore and Ince need to prove themselves. Jakes been good for us but needs to take a step up this season to be in England contention.
Rosenoir was class yesterday and should get a go imo. But with Gerrard now history Hudds can grab a chance on top form. England dont have anyone with Tom's visison and passing range.
When you see Johnson at right back for England, Rossy IMHO is better defensively than he is, and not bad going forward. But for a right back, the defensive qualities are more important than his offensive attributes.
It's almost definitely going to be Huddlestone in these upcoming friendlies England have in September. Now that Gerrard has retired it would seem incredibly likely that this could happen. The World Cup came slightly too early for Huddlestone. I personally believe Gerrard in an England shirt is massively overrated. I also can't believe that you put Rosenior on the list. Great player and I really like him but he isn't even an automatic first team player for us so why would he be for England.
The only reason he doesn't make the starting line up is when we play 352 and without full backs. If we do play 442 he is a regular starter.
Rosenior is getting better and better. He won't get an England chance but he is going to be very important for us.
If he was in contention for England then he would have to start week in week out. It's as simple as that. So your point makes no sense.
If you check my post I wasn't saying that he would play for England, firstly he is too old now to get into the side. What I said was that IMO he is better defensively than Johnson, who frankly I don't think is England quality.
In that case. I completely agree. I would much rather have Rosenior than Johnson. Most football fans won't have even heard of Rosenior but if he continues his performances than maybe they will. I think he is probably too old to ever get a move to a bigger/big club.
