I think we're probably over £5m spent(or committed) already: 1. Rosienior - Free 2. Chester - £300k 3. Dudgeon - £300k 4. Evans - £500k 5. Fryatt - £1.2m 6. McClean - £1.3m 7. Simpson - £50k 8. Stewart - £300k 9. Harper - Free 10. Koren - Free 11. Hobbs - £800k 12. Adebola - Free 13. Mckenna - ?
McKenna is free. That's still just short of £5m in transfer fees since January. Plus £40m to pay off the debt ran up. Plus £7m committed to ease us through next season. And still you read some muppets slagging them for not putting their hand in their pocket.
He has never played in this country. However well a player plays somewhere else, it is a HUGE risk assuming he will play well in this country.
What's most worrying is we're not hearing anything at all about keepers, seeing as we need 2. At the moment Oxley is our only full time keeper (I think). I'd have kept Duke on as a second choice if his wages weren't too high which I can't imagine they would have been.
Humberside sports news at half 5 said that we're in for a premiership keeper but didnt elaborate. Im presuming a youngster on loan, be it Mannone/ Forster or someone who hasn't been mentioned yet.
I don't see the rush on keepers myself, each PL club normally has one young keeper they are willing to loan out, and on last count i counted around 12 on free transfer that we could possibly look at. NP keeps all his business in house no doubt we have a few offers on the table for keepers, he's just not telling us.
Unfortunately, poor Nicky has already been binned by Brentford. PS - I realise you already knew I was talking about the other Forster.
We might be only after one keeper with Oxley as second choice, don't forget he was highly rated when we signed him and NP might have seen enough in him to make him number 2
I reckon Oxley will be fine as back up, would like to see more of him, he always looks solid for the reserves and during the warm up.
If we don't end up with one permanent keeper and one loan keeper, I'll be very surprised. Shocked even.
