Not a chance, we're not going to go for a big money striker.

€5m euros was the original rumour.

But it all seems pointless now because he's been offered a one year deal apparently.

West Ham's bid for Wickham was £4m and it's been rejected, apparently he's not for sale.

Stoke City have made a £5m bid for Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond.

Shola Ameobi is going to Turkey and nobody gives a ****.

So you are saying you are going to lose out on him?

Does that mean we are going for a small money striker? <whistles>

So is that a no or not. I dont pay that much attention to your transfers to know if your pointless comment means that you did not offer enough of a contract length and the man is going to go somewhere else.

The original rumour was that he was to be offered €5m over two seasons, which seems wide of the mark because we've offered him a one year deal. Get it?

It's hardly a 'pointless comment' in this thread, is it?

A quick search says it was a one year deal with an option for a 2nd year. Could very well be the total if you picked up the option would be 5 mill. Also says that QPR seem to think they are going to steal him from you. Which seems likely if you are going to offer a 33 year old player his last big pay day and then limit that pay day to a single year.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got one on loan.

Due to his injuries Huddlestone will never be able to reach his full potential, he is still a very good midfielder and if he was more mobile he would be exactly what Man U need now. He strikes the ball very well and can pass the ball around superbly. He has never been world class while Cambiasso was world class, whether he is still performing to a very high standard remains to be seen as we have seen players come to the prem with world class reputations and do really well while some have struggled.

To say Cambiasso is a better signing then Huddlestone or the other way round would be something that can only be debated in a years time.

We already have our playmaker in Danny Drinkwater meaning we not looking to sign a Huddlestone type player. IMO Drinkwater has the potential to push on now and even become an England player within the next year. Only worry then would be the clause Man U insert into transfer deals

He has no choice now but to look to the new breed with Gerrard retired and Lampard over the hill. Carrick should be dropped swell

Drinkwater plays well then he will have no choice but to consider him. Huddlestone a chilies heel will always been his lack of mobility, plus I have always seen Huddlestone as an under rated player. Even at Spurs, he never quite gets the credit he deserves but part of his problem in playing for England would have been he couldn't be in the same team as Gerrard or Lampard

He doesn't have 'no choice', he will simply play Carrick, Barry and Cleverley more often now.

If Woy had any sense, he would pick Drinkwater (if he improves), as well as Huddlestone and maybe Davies.
