What is going on I really cant believe we are not pushing hard to buy him or another loan.Especially as he is in talks with QPR
Apparently we are so overflowing with talent here we don't need him. Take a look at the footage of the game on the weekend to find out the meaning of sarcasm.
I thought it was interesting Monk saying it was DeGuzman's fault as he'd been going round other clubs and implying he didn't want to return. How hard did the club try to hold on to DeGuzman, Chico and Pablo in particular? And why are we determined to hold on to Ki?
There are two sides to every coin. I am not sure whether this is a dismantling - which would be an act of the club. Or, that players are leaving because they do not or cannot respect at a professional level what is going inside the Club - which would be a fall-out from the treatment of Laudrup and/or the quality and execution of Monk as a manager and coach.
Probably a mixture of both - but the facts speak for themselves, a lot of our established and promising players have gone or want to go. And any talk of 'planning' is utter crud. Everytime I see a play we are bidding for or are linked to it appears half the Prem and a fair part of Europe have already made offers.
Was never high on De Guzman defensively. Didnt have the heart most times to keep up with a defensive play that needed to be kept up with .Britton would run himself to death to break up such a play , Chico too.
As much as I liked De Guzman with Siggy, shelvey and ki in the squad his position isn't really a priority.
De guz is the last player we need atm. we need defenders and as far as i can see that is what the club are trying to do. We are fine everywhere else and can manage. the view down the club where i went today before shopping at morrissons is that there is 80% chance that Bony will sign for liverpool before the weekend.
Difficult to avoid comment when so many players are leaving the club with seemingly very little resistance. Add to that the desperately poor performance on Saturday and Monk claiming we are years behind VR when we beat Valencia less than 12 mths ago.
we beat them playing 11 against 10...that is a big advantage and everything went our way that night. they showed us they are better than us at the liberty where it was 11 v 11.....anyone can win a one off. cardiff beat real madrid so are cardiff better than them...
Got to be honest I was never wholly convinced by DeGuzman but I'd far rather him to Ki and I'm sure selling Ki would have funded DeGuzman.
Oh dear Dai I don't think you realise how much like Laudrup you sound " anyone can win a one off " This was his philosophy and why he enjoyed cup competitions. But yes you and Monk are right. We are years away from that level now!
