That was a good strong ride by Joseph O' Brian on Dick Whittington. Kool Kompany is a battler and Hughesie a top jock so I think Young Joseph did well to get up on the less fancied horse.
Frankel was an intended runner in this as well. However,John Gosden is much less parochial than Cecil was so lets hope he runs...smashing colt.
He did well Blue...got a real bump from KK as well. He is immensely strong in a finish and imo is not a bad jockey when his overall attributes are appraised. If he had more backing he could be better.
Reading the article, it is Teddy Grimthorpe saying that he has come out of the Sussex Stakes well and France is the plan. Unless they then decide to go for the Prix du Moulin in September, his next stop must be the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Champions’ Day.
Whay on earth is there a stewards enquiry...ridiculous. Good race riding by Joseph. You wont see me say that again in a hurry!
Likewise stick was tremendous ride from Joseph when it came down to the final furlong and the battle was on thought Hughesy was a shoo in but great ride and good heart from he horse to win
Maarek a little disappointing but not surprised he underperformed. Evanna McCutcheon stated on a few occasions that he's a hard horse to get fit and stays fit with racing. Having been ready to run since May (she said she was desperate to get a run into him) and attempting to keep him on the go the whole time when dictated by weather he probably lost his fitness. That run should have got him back to peak fitness though and you'll see a much improved performance next time.
Shocking at Leicester but good returns from Windsor royal bolted up and starwatch landedleaving the day in profit then tbc
That's 4 out of the last 15 majors played won. 3 from the last 3 tournaments won, against the best fields in the world too. He's some player at 25 years old. The money machine that is Rory McIlroy.
It was a great finish last evening Beefy with four genuinely world class golfers slugging it out...fabulous tv. Rory showed a lot of bottle to fight back, something that hasn't been that evident on the past,he's close to the complete package now. He rode his luck at times yesterday with a misshit heeled 3 wood at 10 squirting low and running onto the green to set up the eagle and a blade of grass keeping his ball out of the hazard at 18. Nightmare result for the layers in the win and e.w. market.
Unreal viewing Dex. What impressed me most was the way he dealt with the pressure. When he was 3 down with 9 to play it looked unlikely, especially considering the calibre of player against him, but as we've seen recently he can now eat pressure for breakfast, lunch and dinner! He was the one hit the best shots down the back stretch and if he'd holed some putts it'd been an easier victory. The days of him 5/1 are probably starting to diminish if he keeps this up
