The Tuesday night fixture makes its debut for the new season with Leeds playing host to League Two outfit Accrington Stanley. A disappointing result to start the season for Leeds was topped with a similarly disappointing performance at the Den on Saturday. The team selection was questionable, the tactics seemingly missing and the Hock is looking over his shoulder already. One thing is for sure, he needs a win here tonight almost as much as us fans do. Stanley also got off to a losing start in the league campaign, going to down by a goal against Southend United. They will be up for the trip across to Yorkshire and a chance to play at Elland Road, and with nothing to lose you never know what can happen in football. The history books have almost nothing to say about meetings between these two sides, with only 1 meeting taking place in 2009 in the Johnston's Paint Trophy. That saw a then League One Leeds United side under the instruction of Simon Grayson win 2-0 thanks to goals from Ephraim and Kilkenny. That season the Leeds squad included the likes of Howson, Snodgrass, Beckford, Becchio, Delph, Johnson, Naylor and the irreplaceable Enoch Showunmi. Leeds Wins 1 Draws 0 Accrington Wins 0

Leeds Form Accrington Form

L 2 - 0 Millwall Southend 1 - 0 L Last Game

W 2 - 0 Dundee United Altrincham 1 - 1 D 2 - 0

W 0 - 5 Glenavon Burnley 0 - 1 L Leeds Win

W 1 - 2 Swindon Town Blackburn 2 - 2 D 15/12/09 - Elland Road

D 2 - 2 Chesterfield Nelson 1 - 2 W

Team News Damned's Starting XI

Leeds please log in to view this image Steve Morison (Doubtful) please log in to view this image Aidy White (Injured) Morison remains a doubt and White is still missing, though many would say he has been for a few seasons. Maybe. Accrington have nothing to lose and will likely throw everything at what is a weak defence, Austin and Murphy might have to do more to help out back there. For my team, Taylor in at LB, Bianchi into the mid, with Hunt and Ajose providing a bit of width for Smith. If James Beattie out thinks and out tactics our supreme coaching guru, then bye bye Hock as no other outcome will appease the fans.
Bit of a classic, let's hope it can't be used against us after tomorrow
We need to win and win well. 3 to 5-0 with us playing some good footy. Think a front 3 of Ajose, Smith and Doukara & a midfield of Murphy, Austin and Bianchi should be enough. Dout we'll get more than about 15 to 17k at home. So unless the players give the crowd plnety to cheer about, this has a banana skin written all over it.
Hope you're right Elland. We don't want this to go to a last minute winner. We need a comfortable win and us being able to use 3 subs early to help fringe members of the team to get game time.
I think I've been bitten by Ristacs negative vibes, but I'm worried about this match, which is ridiculous because we're playing a L2 side. But we've lost to lower division sides before with better players in them. I can see A.S scoring out of nothing, the supporters will get on the players backs. I can't remember being this depressed or disillusioned about the side ever. Even if we do win 3/4 nil it won't paint over the cracks.
If I could pick the team or anyone else could on this forum (who is a Leeds supporter) I would go for 2-0 to us, as Hockaday is picking it I might have to leave my prediction until I see the line up
Even this great thread cant cheer me up. We will be lucky to get 12K for what might prove to be hockawallys only competetive home game. Programs collectors should by one, it may well become a collectors item! 0-2 Stanley, please god! He needs to be gone and gone now. I don't want to have to abuse him or Hunt on saturday.
Cheers for the comments guys This is Cellino we're talking about, if we're 1-0 down at half time he might not even finish his only competitive home game!
Why what's wrong with the team they play at the weekend ? Wouldn't have thought you would be bothered unless they play a weakened side.
The fact some of you want Leeds to lose is a ****ing disgrace. You should hold your head in your hands and not bother supporting Leeds anymore. I know we have had a poor time in last few years but these comments disgust me.
If losing in the Mickey Mouse cup means we get a decent coach then tough s**t I hope we lose. My preferred option is to have a decent coach with a team playing decent footie, and for this I will be shelling out between 2 and 3 grand this year. Again! Hockaf**ingdodah is nowhere near what we need. I will also be getting on Hunts back from the first minute to the last hoping to make him fook off. That doesn't make me less loyal to Leeds Utd than someone not doing it, it makes them more stupid.
