We need more entries for our fantasy league but it takes dedication and effort to do well so I guess people prefer the easy option of sticking in a random score for the prediction league.....
I'm in, joined it a month or two into the season last year so was always playing catchup...on a mission this year !!
Hi guys, Any predictions on your starting back 4 against West Ham!? I have Davies in my FPL team at the moment... Has Rose got a chance of getting that LB spot though? What about if I put Kaboul in instead? Didn't he captain you at the weekend? Help appreciated!!!
No one quite knows Pochettino's position on Davies/Rose. As fans I think we mostly rate Davies higher, but the club have just rather inexplicably given Rose a new long term deal, so someone must see something in him. I would avoid our centre-backs for now, three of them are rumoured to be available for transfer (Dawson, Kaboul, Chiriches), one hasn't played all pre-season (Vertonghen), and Dier is a slight unknown despite an excellent debut at the weekend. Quite remarkably if you want to pick a Spurs defender guaranteed to start next weekend, you're best off picking Naughton, who will be stepping in at right-back for Walker for the foreseeable. If you asked me to pick our best available four, it would be: Naughton Kaboul Vertonghen Davies
It'll be interesting to see. Rose has had a good preseason and whilst a lot of our fans slate him I think he's a good player and will give Davies a run for his money, particularly in the early stages of the season whilst he's settling. As for Kaboul, I assume he'll start the opener but he's had a lot of injuries lately so probably not the best choice long term. I'd go for Naughton if you want a cheap Tottenham defender as Walker's supposedly out for about a month so he'll be guaranteed games and like Rose, he's had a good preseason.
Cheers guys May take a punt on Naughton then, could do me for a few weeks at least! What are your thoughts on Dier? Is he a CB? I thought he was a RB, no?
Played centre back on Saturday and that's where I understood he plays normally. I think he'll get League Cup games and maybe a few Europa League games, unless he really impresses early on. I expect Dier and Veljkovic will start off playing some under 21 games for us this season. If Vertonghen isn't ready for Saturday though, it might be we need him. I'd expect Dawson to be picked ahead of him so long as he's at the club also. He might not be wanted but he's still a better option than throwing in some inexperienced kid in the deep end.
20 Teams in so far. Last season we had 30+ teams in the league, get them in fellas, even if you've never done it before.
Austin missed a penalty Dier top points Naughton Still time to join up peeps. You can't do any worse than me.
Austin missed the Pen and Caulker had a header cleared off the line! thats fantasy football for you! But don't fret, first few games are a lottery and its better to start off slow and adjust your team. Although Dier was picked by 0.3% of all fantasy football players!
I apologise to anyone that picked Naughton on my advice but you should really know better He's my 3rd choice sub so I should miss out on the negative points. How much did he lose out of interest? Sigurdsson and McGregor saved my day and Ings owes me cos I was weighing up Weiman and Berahino but decided to keep Ings instead. Oh well I'm above Boss and that's the important thing
I didn't pick Naughton!!! He was the worse player out of the 300 footballers that played yesterday. He sits at the very bottom of the stats table on -2. C'mon my Liverpool and City players!!!
I picked Naughton, on my own advise though... Still, ahead of Boss and sitting in second Whoever gave the Sigurdsson advise earlier in the thread deserves a medal.
