I'd think we will get nothing more than £6 million for him considering he is in the last year of his contract! Also we cannot possibly consider selling him until we have a ready replacement or at least until Altidore shows that he is fully fit!
Must be Leeds who are **** because he was excellent for Sheff Wed 8 goals in 13, went to Leeds and then had an excellent end of the season with us.
haha we had Ross Barkley the year before and he couldn't get in the team over michael brown o how I love glorious managers at Leeds United ey at least we have Dave somebody or other now tho......
The Sturridge tribunal, City got £3.5 million rising to £6 million on appearances for him Why would we accept £6m?
Indeed. City paid Coventry 200,000 for him when he was 13, when he was 20 he went to Chelsea after playing 21 games for city. We paid 8 million and have developed (!!) him for the past 3 years so we should be looking for our money back in the least.
Nah, I'd rather play him on his current wages for a season. That would cost him dearly and we'd not lose out. If he was playing for a move he'd have to put a shift in so would probably score a few while we line up a replacement. The very worst thing would be to sell him without a new man coming in. Even if he went in January we'd get the same fee.
Ffs!!! Sunderland knock back Irons bid Posted by Hugh5outhon1895 on August 11, 2014 in Whispers West Ham have been knocked back with a bid for Sunderland striker Connor Wickham. The 21 year has long been on the Irons radar and they have finally moved in with what is understood to be a £4 million bid. Sunderland have made it clear they want to keep the player although that may not necessarily mean the Irons won’t try again. The Hammers have watched Wickham for some time but have been cautious about launching bid based on his poor goals return at the highest level. However, a source confirmed to ClaretandHugh a few minutes ago: “It is true we have launched a bid but it’s also true that it has been rejected. “Sunderland have made it clear they don’t want to sell the player so we will consider where we go from here.”
Developed him? seems i may have missed something.. 3 years of failing to impress any SAFC manager, so he was either in the reserves or out of loan, Came back cos we were desperate, delivered the goods for a few games wants a massive pay rise on the back of a few goals...
