I think we need to remember that Dortmund were nowhere near their full strength team and weren't that fit either. I do agree though, we need the right player whoever that is, but as soon as possible.
Yep, We shouldn't judge on yesterdays result at all. Premiership teams won't allow us the space and will be much more aggressive in the tackle. Coutinho will be a marked man this year as teams will know that everything will come through him centrally. Hope the little fella is up to it (physically). Roll on Saturday and the real test!
Dortmund were understrength and looked really off the pace, and quite possibly had half a mind on their meeting with Bayern on Wednesday, so I don't think we should read too much into yesterday's result. That said, we played pretty well and it was an encouraging performance going into the league next week. I'd prefer Bony to Benteke. Benteke is for me too injury prone and his form has been very up-and-down in the league (is he still injured as well?). Granted, the consistency may improve with age, but I'm not really sold on him. I think Bony would offer the more, consistent, reliable package (if we had to choose between the two).
i agree on the above. benteke is still injured IMO and so is a no go zone this transfer window period. that means RHc's mate better pony up
It'll be Moreno this week hopefully. Leaves us a couple of weeks to sign a striker and possibly a goalkeeper. Suspect that the 'players out' list will be growing!
If we do sign a Keeper and a Striker, that's be an entire team bought in one window!!! -------------------?--------------------- Manquilla – Lovren - Stewart – Moreno ----Markovic ----- Can -----Lallana---- ----Origi ---- Lambert-----?------- I know that Stewart at CB is a bit of a stretch! Seriously, has this ever been done before with success?
i reckon secretly it has been huge for a while, we cant get rid of the ****ers though sadly, so have to make out they are an important part the team. sometimes that backfires though ie ass and borini as they think they have a future and hard to shift.
origi and lambert is stretching it a bit as well lol. one is on loan and the other a backup. not sure if ever been done before, but i look at those players and i don't have an issue with any of them, good buys, maybe some over priced but good buys.
Chelsea in 2004-5. Signed 11 senior players and won the title. I wouldnt count Stewart. He is a youth signing. Origi is out on loan.
Shaqiri is Bayern's future, says Hitzfeld http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germ...itzfeld?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter The legendary German coach has urged the winger to remain in Bavaria as he believes it is only a matter of time before he breaks into Pep Guardiola's first team Former Bayern Munich boss Ottmar Hitzfeld has advised Xherdan Shaqiri to be patient and fight for a first-team place at the Allianz Arena. The 22-year-old arrived in Bavaria from Basel in the summer of 2012, but he has so far been struggled to secure regular game time due to the stiff competition for places, with Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben his main rivals for the positions on the wing. "Xherdan is the future of Bayern Munich," ex-Switzerland coach Hitzfeld told Bild. "The clock is ticking in his favour. His young age is his biggest advantage. "His chances of becoming a starter at Bayern are getting bigger each season." Meanwhile, Shaqiri himself has admitted that he's likely to stay at the Bavarians, but refused to rule out a summer transfer amid alleged interest from Juventus and Liverpool. "I think that I will stay here at Bayern. But everything's possible so long as the transfer window remains open." Shaqiri has a contract with Bayern until June 2016. **** Not really sure what Hitzfeld has to do with Bayern, but maybe he spoke some words to Shaqiri at the World Cup.
stretching it???? its going more than that. stewart will never play for lfc. origi is off on loan... i think it better to say its an entire team in 18months and throw in coutinho, sturridge and minger and sahko and it is an entire team very fast and its rodgers team now totally.
West Ham bid for Conor Wickham... Could mean good news in that they (Sunderland) may hope to conclude the deal for Borini? Nothing against the lad but £14m for the lad, meaning, we're somehow gonna get a wee profit from him is not to be sniffed at.. Thanks Fabio, but move along now, for the benefit for all concerned!
Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori was recently linked with a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, but he could now be on his way to France. According to L'Equipe, Bordeaux are interested in signing Ilori on a season-long loan and are also hoping to bring in Diego Contento from Bayern Munich.
Trevor Francis is off the mark talking about us replacing Suarez but makes good some points about Lambert http://www.givemesport.com/492295-l...medium=outbrain-rss&utm_campaign=outbrain-rss
