    From TripAdvisor:

    “Gilson Experience”
    Reviewed 22 June 2014
I'm sorry to report that I was not at all impressed with this establishment. It is run down, needs demolishing and not fit for people to stay in. We stayed on Saturday 21 June 2014 for 1 night only. Our weather these passed few days has been wonderful but the heat in the room was like sitting in an oven. There was no ventilation at all. To try and cool us down my husband put towels through cold water and wrung them out and used them as sheets - that's how bad it was!!!

The decor is dreadful throughout and the bathroom -well I felt cleaner before I got in the shower.

Oh well lesson learned I won't be staying there again!

Stayed June 2014, travelled with family"

A mixture of film and photos, pre-match build up plus some of the match. A taste of what to expect when they visit.

If Lokeren fans HAVE the xperience - they can take the whole

    Gilson Hotel away with them.
    With a blessing.

Don't see what's wrong with the Gilson, lovely little place, one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in.

William Booth Hostel looks much more impressive from the outside.

Fifth floor has south-facing estuary/marina view, and ancillary views of glue-sniffing in old cemetery to the left.

Please feel free to join us for an early morning swig of White Lightening sat on the wall outside at 7am.

Or drunk women with twisted faces pulling their jeans to their knees and squatting for a piss in the grass while her 4 male friends simply watch on.

One of the delights I witnessed there in passing.

    Depends where you are pal.
City centre. Admiral of the Humber and across the road Ebenzenor Morley's, both cheap and have some decent ales on offer.
Old Town, take your pick, plenty of old boozers serving proper beer, and a few doss houses too.
Near the ground. Polar Bear is a decent old pub but his bitter is sometimes a bit dodgy.
Just around the corner from there is Princes Avenue, plenty of café bars down there, we even have Belgium beer, but the bars are a bit more expensive. £3.50 plus a pint.
Hull is full of pubs and you can walk to the stadium from the city centre in 15 minutes. If the local plod allow you too. The Ferry Terminal is a further 15 minutes away, sometimes less depending on traffic and there is a direct bus route from the Terminal to the City Centre. Taxi? £5/6?

Ebeneezer Morley, Admiral and Cheese are hovels full of dirt bags of society.

Head to the historic old town, Ye Olde White Hart, Ye Olde Black Boy, Lion & Key.

How often have you been in Ebeneezer Morley's? I use it regularly and i've never seen any trouble or anything untoward happen.

Find out about the people before lumping them under one banner.

Stay away from the new town area awful.

Old town, Marina or princes avenue are where you want to go the Princes Ave is the best location for pre match lots of pubs n restaurants and its only 5-10 min walk from the Stadium.
