Ok people, this is not a knee jerk reaction at all, I have said all along I never wanted Hock in, and I said I'm prepared to give him a chance, but seriously this guy needs to go. I am convinced this has been a disastrous appointment by Cellino (another debate in its own right). So why am I anti Hock? Well, my suspicions about him were confirmed when I went to the Swindon game. After the game I had a few beers with some FGR fans who had come along with my Robins mate, and they were united in their condemnation of the Hock. Now remember that at FGR he had the highest budget in the Conference, yet he couldn't even get them into the top ten. Oh, and he was there for a while. I think Hock lacks intelligence, a real threat. FGR fans said he's a pig headed individual who is totally inflexible. He makes mistakes and refuses to acknowledge them because he wants to be proved right. So expect to see Hunt start every game until he scores in April, and then Hock will say "I told you so". Back to the intelligence issue. Hock is thick, end of. He talks in cliches and sounds like a "football man", but he is no leader. Idiot? Yes. Why? Because: - gets the Leeds United job and has the opportunity to hire a skilled Assistant to help him, so I'm thinking he'll go for someone who at LEAST has Championship experience to help him settle in and Hock selects .... Junior Fcuking Lewis from Hendon no less. Why? Fcuking why? Because Junior is rubbish, therefore not a threat to replace him, and simply won't challenge any of Hock's decisions. Oh FFS!! We are a massive club trying to get back to the summit of English football and we get a Head Coach and his Assistant who will not improve our players or the club. Fcuk sakes!!! - states that White is an important player for him. Enough said!! - leaves our second top scorer from last season on the bench and selects a player who is finished and who was invisible last season to lead the line against Millwall. "There is still plenty to come from Hunt" ... WTF? - has quality available but benches them ... this cnut clearly would never have selected Glenn Hoddle or Messi if he ever managed them - even after his team is beaten at Mill-fcuking-wall, a team we should not be losing against home or away, he maintains he got his "tactics" right ... oh fcuk off right now you dumb ****, and take that token of an Assistant with you, because he is clearly there to only say yes and nothing else - Hock has a short fuse, and the moment he feels you're "against" him you're toast ... I maintain that Tom Lees left because he was unhappy with the quality of the new boss, Hock knew Lees didn't fancy him ("his body language gave him away") and so Lees was frozen out ... it takes a lot for a lifelong Leeds lad to leave his club, a lot, and Lees clearly saw something he didn't like ... a lot of us said when Hock was appointed that we expected players to react negatively, and so be it ... big problem is when players lose their trust in his judgement and it starts reflecting on the pitch ... how many of them felt he got his team selection right yesterday? That is how it starts Look, I can go on and on but there's no point. The man is not right for our club and the weight of the job, he is a stubborn fool who won't change "just because" when he gets it wrong, and we are going to lose a lot more than we win while he is here. Let's see how long it takes Cellino to swallow his pride and admit hiring Hock was a genuinely stupid and reckless decision
I read somewhere today that one of the reasons Byram would consider a move to a PL club is because of the coaching staff. (not sure how true that is however maybe their is a grain of truth when you consider Ross's comment about falling out of love with Leeds and Lees wanting away as well) It does make you wonder if that was one of the reasons why Viviani and Sorensen had doubts as well. My personal thoughts are MC has brought him in to give himself time. He knows the whole setup including players stinks and will take a long time (maybe 2-3 years) to put right. He probably figures the 'Hock' gives him a few months leeway for a start. It was also a cheap option and going through a few coaches at 150k is not as bad as paying off a half decent manager at a million a pop. I would sack him tomorrow....however I would never have hired him in the first place. So you have to ask why a 'football man' like MC hired him in the first place. I think I know the answer. We are going to need a lot of patience on this project. cheers
One point I will make is Hockadays assistant Junior Lewis. He had to find someone who was a lessor name than he was. Somebody who is not as good. I reckon when we were in League 1, 4 or 5 years ago Dennis Wise was having problems getting undermined as Poyet was a bigger name, and was probably pulling quite a few strings behind the scenes. Every manager needs a decent number 2. We look at Gibbs, and we look at Snodin (our number 2's in the past), both would be bigger names, and have more pulling power than Hockaday.
Never understood how he got the job in the first place. Starting Hunt, Saying white is an important player (where? Cos he neither lb or winger) The p45 clock is ticking fast methinks,MC is not known for backing coaches for long.
Lads, I know where you're coming from, but the thing that worries me is Hock the Cock's replacement. Who would come to this club on a salary of £85k pa? Someone of quality? Nope. Do we even know any coaches out there or how much it would take to secure their services? Possibly, but would they want to be out of work in 6 months or less? Nope. I could go on, but I don't want to lose my point. And that is - if we get rid of Hock the Cock now, then we'll probably sign up someone of equally dubious quality & still have exactly the same type of problem as we have now. The answer to our problem runs deeper than the appointment of another coach. And another. And another ....
I can't really argue with any of this because although I was willing to give the bloke a chance, he's fooked up each game so far and then spoke about how pleased he was. his fist league match was as bad as the others and still talks shyte about his tactics being correct? what tactics as we had one shot on goal against nilwall and replaced players with more defensive players when chasing the game. Sorry but I can't see it working out. Theory: Cellino picks the most thick skinned, pig headed, unknown coach trying to make a name for himself, so that he trys to force out alot of players and gets them off the books. he takes no prisoners so upsets players and makes them look for the door? He then gets sacked for being shyte but saved his boss some money?
Jock may of us would love to earn £85k for doing that job ..... most of us would do a better job too

Cellino is the problem. I can't fault him in the way he's sorting out the clubs finances, but he hasn't a clue about Leeds Utd. We aren't a continental side, he should IMO have got an experienced manager and british players not cheap imports.
Cellino had was it 36 coaches in 22 years ffs what does that tell you as soon as hock has gone another **** one will come in he is a fooking cheap-skate i told you months ago he is worse than Bates and he is. Look at the players cellino is bringing in how many of them do you think Hock had a word in signing ? 0 a big fat 0 the next coach will have to work under the same conditions i buy you **** cheap players you turn them into a team or get fooked off. The funny thing is the Hock DOES have more championship experience than both Cellino and Nickola and i am sure that if Cellino were to buy championship quality players the Hock would be playing them sorry doesnt work and will never work
Problem is shaks British players won't play for the wages on offer and we can't afford to pay any more
Good points! Something about Nile Ranger sitting in the stands doesn't quite sit right with me either. Time will tell.
Not being one to blow my own trumpet, but this prediction was a formality http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-Imminent-Board-Closure?p=6862194#post6862194
We could have gone for Westwood, Burke, Rowe just to name 3...Cellino has the money, I know it's only one game, but I think we are in for a long hard season.
