    Enjoyed that.

Think early signs with Dejan are really positive looks like he is going to have a very good effect on our defence. Manquillo had a positive debut too.

Four goals from four different players. Sterling looked beastie again.

Still think Suso is the natural replacement for Coutinho when subbed.

Suprisingly impressed with Mankini - didn't put a foot wrong. Surely, if we get Moreno, Mankini can play instead of Johnson, and have Flanno as his main competition.

The attack was brilliant but I'm more impressed with the defence.

Adding Lovren and Manquillo looks very good - Lovren was clearly vocal and is a natural leader. He did put players under a bit of pressure with his passing at times but overall, he was proactive and quick to the ball.

Very impressed with Manquillo - very solid and unspectacular, which is what I want from my fullbacks. With Enrique, Flanno and potentially Moreno coming in, Johnson should be worried because I think Manquillo can really nail down that RB position.

We still need a striker who can rotate with Sturidge, or have the ability to play across the line because there is no way Lambert should be starting any game or coming on as a sub unless we plan to lump the ball into the box.

True but at least now we have Markovic and Lallana to come off the bench. Last season, we would have Aspas and moses.

Great debuts from Lovren and Manquillo!

Hendo, Couts and Sterling looked fantastic. Sturridge got his goal and the only way the game could have been better was if Lambert had got a goal in front of the Kop.

Really enjoyed the way we played today and I like the balance of the team when both Can and Hendo play in the middle of the pitch.

I have trouble with the ****er all the time.
It went ok(ish) for 40 minutes then just crashed and I couldn't get it back. Closed down the app, cleared cache, closed and re-opened the browser- still sod all.
I have BT broadband, so it's free, but it should still work, and I'm annoyed with it. If I was paying for it I'd be ****ing livid.
I ended up switching to LFC TV. Rubbish picture, but a picture at least.
    Good game, btw.

I had similar issues with it. Had to keep rebooting my WiFi and reloading the webpage -- I missed Hendo's goal! <doh> And, even when it was working, it sounded like a transformer was taking a piss in the background and was mic'ed up on his metal wang! <grr>

    Agreed <ok>

With the transfer window still open things could get exciting....I predict a very decent season.

Quite amazing that our 2 best players are both kids - Sterling and Coutinho. Those two have the potential to become worldies, serious.

  11. They are very good but I'd say they're our two most creative players rather than best, Sturridge and Hendo well have something to say about the best tag (Hendo is the most important player IMO)

Perhaps I worded it wrong. The 2 players (along with Sturridge) that are our main outlet are kids, and ****ing good kids too <ok>

The only negative thing I would say about Raheem... and it's not really negative...

Two of his best attributes are his acceleration and speed. He could do a Michael Owen; by that I mean peak in his early 20s and then first major injury just drop back a peg in class.

Less likely to happen with Coutinho since he isn't about speed.

Clubs have learnt from situations like Owens and protect players better now.

Much better formation, the one we deployed today, compared to the one against United (where Coutinho came off the right of midfield). Coutinho is a true no 10. Also he has fewer defensive duties in that role, allowing him to express more in an attacking sense and last more minutes on the pitch.

    -------------Mig----------------
    --Manq--Skrtl--Lovren--Johnson--
    -----------Gerrard--------------
    ----------------------Can-------
    ----Hendo---Couts-----Sterling--
    ---------Sturridge---------------

    A balanced formation. <ok>

Would be even better with Moreno at LB.

Did we have decent width on the right?

I could see Henderson taking over Can and Lallana on the right.

Can goes through a lot of defensive duties on the left, allowing Sterling to work as a forward. Hendo behind Sterling would be wasted. Hendo has been assigned by BR the task of getting 10 goals this season - and on the right he can find that space to get forward. Lallana would not provide the defensive cover of Hendo.

Sterling will come in off the left, unless we do sign that world class forward. If so, he goes back to RW.
