It baffles me, if a managers position is so vulnerable at the beginning of a season why didn't they just get rid in May?

Didn't take long, but the fans weren't too happy after the game yesterday.

They've genuinely sacked Mark Robins?! Jesus, I thought it was a joke.

I thought it was a joke as well...how can one game change anything....unless there was a major argument.

The BBC report they appointed a new assistant manager from Blackpool in June and changed the back room staff. He is now taking on the caretaker role. Whether Robins was involved in that appointment could be a factor.

Win for Wolves. I reckon we could see them in the Prem next season.

I keep saying I fancy them to make a good tilt at it, but my Wolves supporting mate is adamant they're not going to.

He doesn't particularly like Jackett (unpopular opinion up there) and says the squad is too thin. He wants a steady season to build from.

For what it's worth, I also fancy Wolves to win today - and Neil Adams to fail at Norwich.

I agree, and think Wolves will win. I really think they could do quite well this year. Jackett has galvanised the fans and got them back on side, with a real positive vibe up there now. They are a big club, and I really rate Jackett as a manager. He also knows the league very well and their squad is looking much younger and more energetic than the one which was so poorly relegated. Norwich need to strengthen I think - certainly up front.

Have they got Villa fans telling them they're going to be relegated?

Depends on who they sell, if anyone, between now and the close of the window.

Right now I would say that a strike force of Grabban and Hooper, supported by the likes of Bennett, Pilkington, Redmond and Hoolahan, looks more than decent at that level. Presumably Becchio will get more game time now too, and he did a decent job for Leeds previously.

I also think Norwich will benefit greatly from keeping together the basis of their defence (including Ruddy). If it wasn't for the fact that they have a complete rookie in charge, they would be my pick for the title. Or at the very least, my pick of the three relegated sides to perform the best.

I forgot they signed Grabban, and still had Becchio. You have picked holes right through my argument there, and rightly so. I agree about the defence, and keeping Ruddy was very good (no pun intended).

I'm not going to comment on their signing of Kyle Lafferty though, as I haven't followed his career at all since he left Rangers.

Wolves have one of the best kits in England this season. Just saying.

Redmond playing upfront for Norwich. Surman is also playing in midfield
