Stop being pedantic Rebel and admit you're wrong. If Hun is not offensive to Protestants, why do some Catholic people use it as an insult towards them eg "You Hun bastard", "dirty hun" etc?

I am a Catholic, as are my family and a lot of my friends and co workers. I have never heard any of them even say the word Hun never mind use it as an insult.
But it is an insult they would use towards a Protestant, isn't it? You probably think I know **** all about sectarianism, but one of my mates at work is from Northern Ireland and was a staunch Protestant as a younger man, used to gon the marches and whatnot. Whereas another mate is an Irish Catholic (trained to be a priest) and they jokingly call each other fenian and hun.
When I was working for Quinn Insurance I once got called a paddy spud picker by an English customer. It's not sectarian but it is an insult based on the fact I am Irish. PS I always thought hun was a term of affection as in hun = huni

Redundancy sucks I worked on the phones for a while then moved to the IT department. I'm not surprised it went the way it did, it was very badly run.
I was going to say that the Irish couldn't run a piss-up in a brewery, but that's obviously the wrong analogy
I self employed RCM in Derry & Tyrone for them for a while. Great money but I just knew it was never going to last. I hated every day even though I had loads of money. No time to spend it as I was working 24-7. I made a huge bonus on the monday and they cut back 7-8 RCM's, including me, on the tuesday. stupid ****s. The bonus kept me going till I found something else. I'll never chase the money again.
Maybe it's just the uneducated. Probably my first exposure to sectarianism was in Irvine Welsh's novels (admittedly fictional, but I believe pretty accurate), where the Hibs fans often refer to the Hearts fans as huns.
