"Agent Moustache" as we shall from now refer to him as, told me ages ago that if the West really put their minds to it, they could destroy ISIS in five minutes flat. Hopefully the perceived need to do that keeps increasing.
Weather trivia: Thunder and Lightning just started up in Southampton. Ah, here comes the wet stuff as well.
You can keep it....it is sunny and windy in Newport. Wore a cardigan on way to shop and regretted it...too warm.
Looks like someone else is going to get it. The rain can't seem to make its mind up whether it really wants to get going properly or just make everything slightly wet and then stop. Nope, definitely eased back to an annoying heavy drizzle. The sort of thing that makes you think twice about having a bike ride. OK, now it has stopped. Thunder is very distant now.
Yes, I've been reading about the various areas above the M4. You lot have been taking an absolute hammering over the last week or so. We've just had the odd drop of rain. Quite civilised, as you'd expect of Southampton weather.
Actually here, it had been lovely most the week; yesterday was lovely, but we certainly need the rain.
I'm quite sure that 99.999% of posters on here can read. The percentage of posters that occasionally don't read is much lower, in my opinion. We're all guilty of that. Some more than others.
This year I've been storing my bike across town, for various reasons, but one of them was that it would be slightly more secure. About 3 days ago I suddenly had the bright idea to bring it back to my place and hang the slight insecurity. After all, there's a Harley parked every day just 150 yards away and nobody bothers it [I can understand that]. So I looked at the BBC Weather app for confirmation of wall-to-wall sunshine, and it predicted rain all this coming week, so the inclination to ride is diminished. Mind you, the Beeb app has been saying we'd be rained on all summer and, at a rough guess, I reckon we've had between 5-10% of what has been predicted for us here. Sky is now brightening again and the clouds are floating away. Some nice blue out there.
Big story developing in the States overnight. Former NASCAR champion and current front-runner Tony Stewart has been involved in a fatal sprint car accident at a local dirt track, which has claimed the life of 20 year old Kevin Ward Jr. Full story can be found here, I recommend reading it as it is one of the more extraordinary but tragic stories I've read about.
That's terrible (though walking down a racetrack that's in use could also be considered pretty catastrophically stupid too....)
