....... on loan? It's a definite from me. He's played over a dozen games for Belgium, hits a great dead ball and is quick ..... he's good with both feet and can play either wing. He was expected to go straight into Spurs first team when he signed, things just haven't worked out. Perhaps 'replacing' Bale was too hard a job but I'd love him at Sunderland this season. "Manager Gus Poyet has inquired about taking the Belgian international Chadli to the Black Cats. Poyet would prefer a season-long loan rather than a permanent deal for the 25-year-old attacker, who joined Spurs in a £7million deal a year ago." http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...tottenhams-nacer-chadli-4031429#ixzz39zBCJgvc
Just been reading this, and this, for me, would be a cracking move. I reckon we could actually tie up a permanent signing for 'money back' ie, £7million. For me, that makes him a far better shout than Borini at doubles.
He's 2 years older than Borini yet had had half the cubs, is half the price & has actually won things. He's also played & scored for his country. As I said elsewhere, Borini has only score 1 goal when not on loan! A much better option imo ...... with him and AJ switching wings defender's heads would be spinning
Yes, let's develop a spurs player and then we can send him back to be ridiculed, passed over and put in the reserves.
Agreed, he loves to run with the ball and we all love players like that, I also think buying Belgians at the minute is akin to investing in gold bullion, you can barely lose. Mind, Watmore, he could actually be a weapon there as well, akin to when MON dropped the Irish lad (who's disappeared so much that with a hangover I can't even remember his name...went to Wigan...), people will not expect him to come marauding at them.
Or buy Borini for £14 million, on a 5 year deal, and find out he's not worth it. Or he leaves after a year and we get our money back ........ a loan for Chadli with an option to buy would be a great deal imo
Two years older is hardly putting him into the wes brown, jos, pirlo age category. Cant think of any good reason why he would not be a better option thant fab.
No idea mate, Poyet is saying he wants a loan ...... perhaps it's just mind games to get Spurs to sell him for a reasonable amount.
I'm only saying 'two years older' to show that he's had half the clubs that Borini, at 23, has already had.
We've been burned so many times on loans though, I don't so much mind taking a young lad or an unproven player, but for a Belgian internatinal who will improve dramatically with games, I'd rather we just bit the bullet and paid. Wonder if they'd do us Chadli & Kaboul for around £12million, we'd be in great shape then!
Kaboul is a big ****er with pace, who gets a few goals, and supposedly available. Yeah, he knocked us back before, but he is a very good defender which all the attributes we lack. ----------Vito------------ Jones---Wes-Kaboul---PVA --------Catts (c)---------- AJ------Rodwell------Chadli --------Wickham---------- Anyone not be delighted with that? Leaves bench options too, JOS, Seb, Mavrias, Fletcher, Vergini, Watmore, Costel, Gomez..... You know we aren't miles from a very decent side here.
